So last week I had another presentation, I got to educate doctors and professors in their field.
I spoke to them about the importance of building people up in the community, how the lived experience I have combined with the formal education that I have allows me to bridge a gap between them as doctors and professors of research and the population that were are researching (injecting drug users). I may not always feel comfortable when I walk into my workplace and see all of their titles on their doors but, they may not feel comfortable speaking in parks with homeless people who inject drugs.
I want them to understand that someone saw some potential in me and gave me a shot and this is what has allowed this blackbird to take his broken wings and learn to fly.
Believe in yourself no matter what your past is. ❤

With your eyes, try to catch any of the black dots. See how they jump around?

Now focus on one white dot and watch the black dots stay still.

Sometimes when we have a lot of different things going on it's hard to focus on anything, but if we focus on the big things all the little things fall into place.

An arrow can only be projected forward after being pulled back, so when life seems like it's dragging you down, just keep aiming and shoot for the stars.
