With Easter over and more importantly, the chocolate, it is time to regain control over your diet and reduce calories. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and protein are excellent ways of providing the necessary energy and preventing those “in-between” meals. A fruit platter is always a welcome addition to any meal - or even between meals! Just be careful though, fruit is high in sugars and too much will add to those calories!

Easter is a time for gathering and celebration, and the day often involves more physical activity than people expect. Whether you are on your feet for extended periods or lifting little ones throughout the day, be sure to move thoughtfully and listen to your body through all of it. Wishing you and your family a joyful Easter!

Picking up a heavy cooler, lifting a child, or hauling bags from the car, Easter weekend involves more lifting than most people expect. The part that causes strain is usually not the weight itself, but the twist that happens at the same time. Keep the load close, engage your core, and avoid rotating while you're under load.

Easter can be a challenge. Chocolate, lots of food, alcohol, and more chocolate are all consumed to excess at times. Everything in moderation especially quantity. Here at Mandurah Chiropractic Susan keeps us on the ball by preparing this amazing platter. Be like Susan, prepare these platters rather than take the easy path of chocolate!

Progress in your health is rarely linear, and that is completely normal. There will be weeks where you feel strong and weeks where old patterns creep back in. What matters most is staying consistent with the habits that support you, including your care. Every visit matters.

Most people think of posture as something you fix by sitting up straighter or pulling your shoulders back. But there’s a factor that shapes how you hold yourself all day long, and it’s one you’re repeating about 20,000 times a day without a second thought. It’s your breathing pattern.

Easter long weekend road trip? 🐣🚗

Before you pack the snacks and queue the playlist… here are 3 simple things your body will THANK you for while travelling (with a little help from Susan 👇)

1. Bring your own pillow 🛏️
Holiday pillows are a total lottery… your pillow = proper neck support.
When you use your usual pillow:
• Your neck stays in a more natural position
• You’re less likely to wake up with headaches or stiffness
• You get deeper, better-quality sleep

And better sleep = better mood + more energy for Easter adventures ✨
(Need a better pillow? Send us a DM)

2. Stretch + move 🤸‍♀️
Long drives = lots of sitting… and sitting can mean tight hips, stiff backs and that “locked up” feeling.

Quick stretch breaks:
• Improve circulation
• Reduce muscle tightness
• Help prevent next-day soreness

Even 2–3 minutes every couple of hours makes a difference. Your body is designed to move—let it.

3. Stay hydrated 💧
Travel often means more coffee, snacks, air-con… and maybe a cheeky Easter treat or two 🍫

Dehydration can lead to:
• Headaches
• Muscle cramping
• Stiff, achy joints

Water keeps your muscles, joints and energy levels happy so you can enjoy the weekend feeling your best.

Safe travels this Easter long weekend 🐰
