PHC has presented Mandurah Toyota a special plaque to thank the dealership for providing vehicles for dialysis patient transport to and from the hospital over the last 12 years.

The generosity of Mandurah Toyota owners, Steve, and Jo Butler, has made a significant difference to those living with kidney disease as have the volunteer drivers who have made the transport service possible. Thank you all for your kindness!

- Important information about network outage -

We are aware of a global network outage impacting many organisations including Ramsay Health Care.

We are assessing the impacts at a local level across our hospitals and health services network to understand which systems are affected and developing contingency plans for patients.

At this stage, we do not know how long the outrage will last. During this time, if you have questions regarding current Ramsay patients please contact your local hospital by phone.

We are working to address the situation and appreciate your patience. We will provide further information as the situation changes.

It's Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day – a time to break down the stigma around mental health in doctors and health professionals.

Wearing crazy socks might seem like a small gesture, but it carries a powerful message. It's a reminder that it's okay not to be okay, and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

So, whether you're wearing neon stripes or polka dots, let's rock those crazy socks raise awareness about mental health in healthcare workers.

Today we honour and remember our founder, Paul Ramsay AO, who passed away exactly 10 years ago today. Paul was a philanthropist and iconic figure who helped shape Australia’s healthcare landscape for the better.

So much has changed in 10 years, but one thing that remains the same is Ramsay Health Care’s commitment to people - and this is something that would make Paul proud.

Paul lived by the phrase “people caring for people”. It’s a philosophy we continue to uphold today through looking after our patients, our staff and all our healthcare partners.

As we celebrate Ramsay Health Care’s 60th anniversary in 2024, it’s a chance for us to reflect on Paul’s legacy and pledge to continue to lead in The Ramsay Way for many more years to come.

Bringing Joy and Comfort: Sunnie the Therapy Dog visits Peel Health Campus

Peel Health Campus recently experienced a heart-warming visit from ‘Sunnie’, a delightful Therapy Dog, along with her owner Eve. Sunnie’s visit was part of the hospital’s new Animal Assisted Therapy and Activity Program and proved to be a hit with patients, staff and visitors alike leaving everyone with smiles on their faces.

Animal Assisted Therapy has benefits within the hospital environment, such as:

🐾 Emotional Well-being: Interacting with therapy animals like Sunnie has been shown to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression.
🐾 Physical comfort: Patients often experience reduced blood pressure and heart rate in the presence of therapy animals.
🐾 Distraction and Entertainment: Therapy animals provide a pleasant distraction from the hospital environment, helping patients momentarily shift their focus away from medical concerns. The diversion can aid in pain management and promote relaxation.

The success of Sunnie’s visit has set the stage for more furry therapy sessions at Peel Health Campus. The hospital plans to continue incorporating animal-assisted therapy as part of their holistic approach to patient care and looks forward to regular visits from Sunnie in the future.

Did you know that June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month? Let's come together to spread knowledge and support those affected by this preventable disease.

Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide, but early detection can save lives.

Here are some facts to share:

▪️ Common signs include persistent changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, and abdominal pain.
