🔸 Biggest “aha” moment in your practice? “Finding the connections in my body and not just relying on muscle strength”

 🔸 Favourite and least favourite exercise? “I enjoy the challenge of teaser, it is a work in progress but a great feeling when you get it! I’m not sure why but I will skip the short box on the reformer if no one is watching.”
 
🔸 Favourite class or apparatus? “I love the simplicity of the mat, my body feels so good after a session. Being a gym junkie, I often do my mat session in the gym but I have recently been loving doing mat classes too. It is nice to have an instructor to tell you what to do and just focus on what your body should be doing!”

 
🔸”I feel at home at MPG, the staff are amazing and always greet you with a welcoming smile and a chat. Many of the members are familiar faces but it has also been great to meet new friends and share our love for pilates.”

Pilates groupie 💁‍♀️

🔸 4. What would you say has been your biggest “aha” moment within your practice?
Being able to kinda do tendon stretch 😅
And in pulling straps — when Emilie said to focus on extending the legs to move and feel that connection ✨

Fav: Short Spine ❤️
Least Fav: Down Stretch 😬

Biggest “aha” moment in your practice?
🔸“Ahhh I have so many 😭 but the biggest would be finding my inner thighs 😅”

Favourite and least favourite exercise?
🔸“Favourite – the one where you flick off the reformer onto the floor.
Least favourite – teaser on the box, I hate when the box moves the tiniest bit 😭”

Favourite class or apparatus?
🔸“Mat or Reformer (I love both hehe)
Apparatus – the stick… it’s simple but helps so much 🤣”

What’s your favourite part about My Pilates Gym?
🔸“I love the vibe – it is such a safe space. I haven’t experienced a space so safe other than church and I love that!
Second fav ☺️ I love the amount of correction in class, it’s all about actually learning the art properly.
Least fav? How far I hang over the front rails on the reformer… but I’m 6ft tall, what ya gonna do 😭🤣”

Thanks Jess! You have come so far in your practice and love watching you grow especially in Tree 😜. Your favourite exercise name is control balance off which is very impressive! (Pictured bottom right) Control balance off can be closely related to Tree (pictured top left) it is the upside down version. Testing the strength/control through different pulls of gravity.

The challenge lasts 6 weeks! So once you have completed one challenge you can choose another or you can simply choose to do one. The more challenges you complete the more entries you’ll gain.

🔸Biggest “aha” moment in your practice? “Arms & legs come from the stomach. Olga telling me to find my collarbone… & pretend there’s a sandwich on my pelvis. And relax those shoulders!😂”

🔸Favourite and least favourite exercise? “Spine stretch is my fav! Least would have to be the barrel as I can never remember how to do it properly.”

🔸Biggest “aha” moment in your practice? “Two big aha moments, Sarah telling me to connect my chest to my pubic bone which enabled me to do Teaser, secondly when Olga explained how to engage my stomach to achieve Tendon Stretch.”

 🔸Favourite and least favourite exercise? “Favourite is Tendon Stretch, least favourite is anything laying on my front.”

WELCOMING JESS TO THE TIMETABLE 🙌🥳

A lot of you already know Jess from doing classes with her but what you might not know is Jess has been studying hard and is now a Qualified Pilates Instructor!! 🥳🥳🥳
Now taking 5pm Friday Matwork!!!

Here’s some more things to get to know Jess.

In 2022, after years of living with chronic pain, Jess discovered Pilates—and she says it completely transformed her life. What began as a personal journey to find relief and restore her body soon became a deep passion for the method and its incredible ability to heal, strengthen, and empower. Jess says Pilates not only helped her move without pain again, but it gave her back her confidence, energy, and joy. Now,  having completed the MPG matwork instructor training mentorship program, Jess’ mission is to share that gift with others—to help people feel the method in their own bodies, connect with their strength, and become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves.

Outside of Pilates, Jess works full time in marketing and has two awesome kids that keep her busy. 
Jess says Pilates is her peace and her passion!

We are so happy to have you on board. Make sure you give Jess some love and book into her class!

Here’s a familiar face! If you’re a member at MPG, you’ve probably met or heard of Rochelle. She’s been coming to classes since 2019—safe to say she’s part of the furniture!
Not only is she an incredible Pilates practitioner, but she also brings some amazing qualities to our community. She makes newbies feel welcome, supports current members, and always manages to crack a few jokes along the way. We love you, Rochelle!
