The EL team have been busy re-arranging and making more amazing spaces for our families to enjoy. To make more room we have been clearing out some items. Prices are on the pictures, they are available for pick-up from the EL Centre next week. Comment sold on the picture if you are interested. We will add more as we continue. In most cases these items are only 'one of' unless otherwise noted.

Our Speechie Kara and other EL team members having been curating our Seasons Window. Many of the images have been created using the paper children have created using soap art, shaving cream art and other explorations of paint prints.

Makuru - the coldest and wettest time of the year. Traditionally people would move back inland from the coast as the wind and rain began to set in.

We need to change a word that is hurting our children. A word that has no place if communities embrace diversity.

That word is behaviour.

This single word makes us jump to a mental view of a child being:

* Naughty
* Disrespectful
* Irresponsible
* Getting away with something

We are a on mission to ban the word BEHAVIOUR as an outdated, antiquated mental concept that too many adults view the world through.

We believe it is critical to replace this word with the word ACTION.

This space is slowly evolving as our carer retreat space. We teach adults and children to understand the fizz in their body and to seek neutralisers to lower that fizz level. Carers need to access neutralisers too and this area gives them a place to sit, catch up on work, have a coffee, read a book and simply recharge.

Tins 4 Talkers Campaign! We need your support 🙌

iPads are an incredible tool for children with communication difficulties but as of 3/10/24 the NDIS legislated that iPads are on the NOT funded list as “common household” item. There is now a very convoluted replacement process that costs far more (from therapy support budgets) than to simply purchase the iPad as a communication accomodation.

In order to support our families we have decided to collect 10c containers and use 100% of the money raised to purchase an iPad as a communication device for families and children in need. You can bring your 10c containers to our Enhancing Learning Centre or you can take them to your nearest facility and use the QR code below.
