Totem Connections Personal Support is looking for a qualified Disability Support Worker for a Temporary position between the 25-30 June in Burleigh Heads.

Must have;

✅ Disability screening check
✅ First Aid
✅ Current drivers licence and own transport
Ideal candidates will have 6+ months of experience in a similar role within the community or disability services industry.
✅ Preferably will have sound knowledge of disability friendly holiday activities in the local Gold Coast area

Pay Rate between $30-$40 an hour to be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

Today is the perfect day to start the self love challenge!

Buy a small note book and each day dedicate 5 minutes to writing 1 thing (per page) that you like about yourself. It doesn’t have to be something physical you notice about yourself, it can also be mental or a quality about yourself.

Begin to do this each day for 3 months, looking back and reading it frequently. This is a great way to remind yourself of the amazing person you are and the little things that make up the whole of you.

How to Create a “Self Care Saturday”

1. 📔 Put it in your Diary - Schedule in a few hours, Make it an important meeting with yourself

2. 📖 Journal the things your grateful for - spend 10 minutes writing things down that happened during your week that your grateful for

3. 🚶🏽‍♀️ Go for a 1/2 - 1 hour walk and connect with nature and your surroundings.

4. ☕️ Relax for an hour with a face mask, cup of tea/coffee/chocolate with some relaxing music. Really drift away and clear your mind 🧠!

5. Do something you enjoy! It could be reading, baking, arts and crafts, dancing, playing with the kids, watching a movie/documentary etc..

‼️MOST IMPORTANTLY ‼️
Don’t skip a self care day, set a plan, write it down and make it something that is a priority!

Each day take 10 minutes out to;
1. Sit down, sit up nice and straight.
2. Calm your mind.
3. Breath nice deep breaths in your nose and out your mouth (this will allow you to breath down deep into your diaphragm).

This will help your body release a natural hit of serotonin, melatonin and epinephrine which will help make you;
😄 Feel happier
🧠 Focus Better
🏃‍♀️ And more motivated to get through your day!
