Preventive care is not one-size-fits-all. It evolves with your age, family history, work, lifestyle and personal health goals. Most importantly, it starts with knowing the person, not just the symptoms or conditions.

Building a long-term relationship with a healthcare team you trust, feel comfortable with and see regularly is one of the most powerful ways to support your long-term health. Ongoing care creates space for prevention, early detection and personalised advice that grows with you over time.

We’ve made a small change to our appointment reminders to better support our patients and our team.

From now on, reminder messages will be sent 2 days before your appointment, instead of the day before.

This gives us more time to offer any cancelled appointments to other patients who may be waiting to be seen.

We kindly ask that you reply to your reminder message as soon as possible, so we can manage our schedule effectively and help avoid any cancellation fees.

Thank you for working with us to support the health of our community 💚

Dr Paul and Nurse Alison are heading to Melbourne to complete the International Certificate of Dermatoscopy, undertaking advanced training that strengthens the way we assess, monitor and diagnose skin lesions.

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia, and early detection is vital. This additional training will further enhance the care we provide and support more accurate, confident assessment of concerning spots.

Over the coming months we will be expanding our skin check services, beginning with this advanced qualification and followed by the introduction of new technology later in the year to support more detailed monitoring and diagnosis.

Heart disease is the second leading cause of death in women, and the symptoms are not always obvious.

Many women do not experience the classic crushing chest pain. Instead, symptoms can be more subtle. Pain may occur in the neck, jaw, shoulder, upper back or abdomen, and is often described as tightness or pressure. Some women experience shortness of breath, nausea, sweating or dizziness instead of chest pain.

Knowing the signs matters.

Our comprehensive Heart Health Check helps you understand your personal risk of heart attack or stroke over the next five years and provides clear, practical steps to reduce that risk. Prevention starts with awareness, and a simple check could make all the difference.

We're excited to be hosting a new cohort of Rural Clinical School medical students in Manjimup throughout 2026.

Throughout the year a medical student will be in the practice most days, learning alongside our GPs, nurses, and allied health team to experience first hand what rural, community-based healthcare really looks like.

Having students in the practice allows us to support the future rural workforce, foster a culture of teaching and learning and deliver thoughtful, well-supervised team based-care to our community.

We're proud to play a part in shaping the next generation of rural doctors.

Tomorrow morning, Wednesday 4th March, we will be having a team clinical meeting. Our front reception and phones will be closed, but we will be back in the practice and answering calls from 1pm. We will have an option to leave a voicemail and we can call you back once we are in.

These meetings help us to workshop our services, identify gaps, make improvements and share knowledge between our entire team so you receive the most up to date and well thought out care experience. Thanks for your understanding! 🩺❤️

They’re back!

After a year in Perth for anaesthetic training, Dr Aaron and Christine are returning to rural healthcare and joining the Praxis family!

Dr Aaron will be a GP at Praxis and will also provide ED and anaesthetic services at the hospital. Christine will join our nursing team on Thursdays and Fridays, while also continuing her work at the hospital.

We are so excited to welcome them home to our community. They’ve been missed, and we know they’ll hit the ground running!

Appointments with Dr Aaron are available from March. You can book online or call our admin team on 9772 1108.

Kids ask... we answer!

“Why do people get anxiety?”

One of our littlest interviewers asks a big question, and our Clinical Psychologist, Gideon, explains why anxiety happens and how doctors can help.

We’ll be sharing more of these each month. Real questions, real answers.

Healthcare, but human.
