As happy as I am that our new wellness services are booked so far in advance, I know it’s inconvenient for those wanted to rebook!

I am in the process of changing bookings apps. Which will mean that wellness memberships will be available. You will be able to secure your weekly, fortnightly or monthly booking for all our wellness services.

I am Annie, a qualified Naturopath & Herbalist and owner of both Movement Wellness Hub and Aligned Yoga & Health.

STUDY||

Did you know that there are 50 times more microplastics in our brain that there were 8 years ago? A new study has found a way to potentially alleviate this!

Although we should be doing our best to eliminate plastics in our daily life(switch from plastic containers/water bottles), we also need to find ways to help reduce the plastic already in our system.

Studies show that fermented foods such as kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, miso, kombucha, tempeh, yogurt, and sourdough bread may reduce some inflammation that is caused by microplastics.

But also, there are new studies that show that there may be probiotics that can actually absorb and excrete 67% of microplastics.

Probiotics in fermented dairy and pickled food can bind to & degrade chemicals known as phthalates, which are typically found in plastic.

There are 2 studies that noted lactobacillus plantarum can have these effects.

Although these studies are early and have been conducted mostly on animals, it is a promising start. And with how many other benefits fermented foods have - I would say it’s worth trying!
