In Traditional Chinese, "Sound and Color" (聲色) refers to the sensory pleasures of extravagant music and lust. To the ancients, these were considered vices because they overstimulate the nervous system and drain our vital energy.

Chen Ji’s wisdom reminds us that while we guard ourselves against these obvious external distractions, we rarely guard our plates, yet it is often the plate that dictates our lifespan.

From a TCM perspective:

Overconsumption, or consuming the wrong foods at the wrong time, creates Dampness and Stagnation.

This internal fog clogs our systems and leads to the "hundred diseases" mentioned by Chen Ji nearly 2,000 years ago.

True longevity begins with the discipline of the mouth.

🌿 PEACH GUM & PAPAYA SOUP 🌿

When people ask me the secret to maintaining youthful skin, I first say Qigong, then I say Peach Gum!

Peach Gum (桃胶) is a natural 'plant collagen' in Chinese food therapy, supporting skin hydration and elasticity.

Papaya (木瓜) is rich in vitamin C and enzymes, helping collagen production and digestion.

I also add ingredients like Honey Locust Seeds (雪莲子), Snow Swallow (雪燕), Snow Fungus (银耳), and Red Dates (红枣). Altogether this soup nourishes yin, hydrates the skin, and supports a healthy glow.

I often wake up the next day feeling my skin softer and more supple! ✨

I’ve been feeling very inspired lately by the incredible women around me. Despite the mountain of responsibility you carry, or the health struggles you may be going through, the way you continue to show up and nurture those around you truly moves me.

This song reminds me of your strength, your light, and your beauty. And please, don’t forget to take time out to care for yourselves too. Keep shining sisters! ✨

**YANG SHENG QIGONG WORKSHOP (SYDNEY) 🌿**

This workshop is designed for beginners who wish to learn and experience the wide range of health benefits that Qigong offers.

Yang Sheng (養生) translates to the practice of nourishing or cultivating life. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is a proactive system of self-care aimed at enhancing vitality, supporting longevity, and preventing illness by harmonising the body, mind, and spirit with the natural rhythms of life.

In this 2-morning immersion, I will guide you through 2 sets of traditional Qigong practices originating from Wudang. Through mindful movement, breath, and stillness, these practices aim to restore inner balance and foster a deep sense of wellbeing:

• Morning Qigong: A sequence of 5 flowing movements coordinated with breathwork to build your inner reservoir of Qi and support long-term physical health.

• Rhythmic Detox: A dynamic, rhythmic practice that activates 20 key points on the body to stimulate circulation, release stagnation, and strengthen immunity.

📅 Date: Fri & Sat • 27–28 March 2026
8:30–10:00am (Registration opens 8:15am on Fri)

📍Location: Carrs Park Lifesaving Hall
