Connections Count began during the COVID 19 pandemic as a tiny solo-practice.
Dr Katie Kjelsaas had been working in a group practice in Brisbane, Australia and developing a reputation for her warm, responsive and evidence-based approach to individual and relationship therapy.
As stresses rose during COVID, couples and individuals began reaching out from around Australia and overseas: "Can you see us for therapy via Zoom? We really need help to weather this storm."
Often these were people whose jobs or reputations meant they needed therapy that was:
- Totally private
- Flexible, to fit into busy lives
Online therapy via Zoom was the perfect solution.
So, Connections Count was born, initially as a side-business to Katie's work in group practice.
From those humble beginnings, Connections Count has grown to become a collaborative team of specially trained relationship therapists able to support individuals, couples and families with private, personally tailored, industry leading psychotherapy wherever they are in the world.
Through Connections Count, Dr Katie also offers professional supervision and training for therapists; as well as coaching, consultation and training for businesses and organisations looking to leverage the power of emotion and attachment to optimise their important outcomes.
The central mission of Connections Count remains: empowering wholeness and thriving in people and systems.
We want all our clients to not just survive, but thrive in their personal and professional lives!
We support people to create and sustain meaningful connections: with new ideas, parts of themselves and the people that matter to them.
We would love to do this for you.
Check us out, then let's connect, because Connections Count!
