Welcome to SSMC, Dr Richard Curran

We’re pleased to welcome Dr Richard Curran, an experienced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, now consulting at South Steyne Medical Centre in Manly.

Dr Curran has extensive experience in general surgery, with a strong focus on gallstone disease, including laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. He brings a patient-centred, evidence-based approach and works closely with GPs to ensure continuity of care.

Consulting locally at SSMC allows patients in Manly and the Northern Beaches to access specialist surgical expertise in a familiar and convenient setting.

Measles update - Northern Beaches

If you or your child have symptoms please call ahead before arriving at South Steyne Medical Centre.

There has been an increase in measles cases reported in Sydney.
Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through coughing and sneezing.

Symptoms may include fever, cough, sore eyes, and a red blotchy rash.

You may wish to speak with a GP if:
• You’re unsure about your measles (MMR) vaccination status
• You’ve been exposed to someone with measles
• You’re planning travel
• You or your child develop symptoms

If you are unwell or have a rash, please call the clinic before attending so appropriate precautions can be taken.

If you’d like personalised advice, a GP can review your vaccination history and discuss next steps. If you are planning on travelling overseas or have returned from overseas and have any concerns then doctors at the Manly Travel Medicine Clinic can assist you.
