Health Shoulders - Part 4!

A band neck stretch is great way to reduce the tension in overactive traps and give them a good stretch out. Start by holding the band in your hand and turn around into the โ€œfront rackโ€ position. Walk forward until you feel a good stretch pulling down the side of your body. At this point you can gently tilt your neck to the side with your other hand โ€“ you should feel quite a strong stretch into the upper trap muscles โ€“ aim to hold it for 1-2 minutes on each side - start gently with this one! If you don't have a band, just pop your hand behind your back instead!

โ€œWhat an amazing night again. Just in bed now. Palm Beach rocked out some bioluminences for us for a second night on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. We decided to start sunset at Palm beach and then check for bio at each beach down to Manly - but we never made it past Palmy. After spotting what could be an algae bloom of the plankton from the drone, we watched carefully as it became dark, the beach was empty and storm clouds rolling in. At the first sign of darkness, we began to see the blue flashes in the waves, we then knew it would be a long night. But what a night!โ€œ

Healthy Shoulders - Part 3!

Theraband pull-downs are a great exercise that will help both improve your control of your scapula and reduce overactive upper trapezius muscles. Start by tying the band at about shoulder height, and then pull the band down behind your hips, keeping your arms straight. As you pull down, be sure to engage the muscles between your shoulder blades (think โ€œback and downโ€) and keep your upper traps (the muscles on the top of your shoulder) relaxed. Complete 15-20 reps for 2-3 sets.
