“A stitch in time saves nine.” 🧵
My grandmother used to say it all the time.

I never really understood the numbers behind it—but the meaning stuck:
👉 what you ignore now will cost you more later.

This morning, I overheard a conversation in a local Manly café. Two guys talking about inflation, the economy, what’s coming next. They might be right, they might be wrong… time will tell.

But it got me thinking—health works the same way.

After 25+ years in chiropractic, I’ve seen how today’s habits become tomorrow’s reality.

The small things you do now? They compound.
Or… the small things you ignore? They compound too.

What you can learn from astronauts 🚀 and athletes 🏃‍♂️

Walking into Village Chiro this morning, I overheard a run coach down on Manly Beach explaining something simple—but powerful:

👉 Your bones adapt to the load you put on them.

Athletes who run regularly? Their bones get stronger and denser.
Astronauts in space? With less load, their bones weaken over time.

Your body is constantly reallocating resources based on how you move.

Now here’s where it matters for your spine…

When joints aren’t moving well, they can sit under constant pressure without proper movement. Over time, your body adapts—but not in a good way.

One of the nicest parts of practice is when people come back.

A few years ago, these two were coming in as clients while living here in Manly. Since then, life has moved on.They returned home to Denmark, pursued career goals and had a beautiful little boy (how cute is he!!) and are now back in Australia for a few months.

And one of the things they wanted to do while they were here in Manly was come back to Village Chiro not only for their own care but for their little guy too.

That always means a lot.

In a world where so much changes, there’s something really special about reconnecting with people over time and being part of their story in different seasons of life.

As we step into a new chapter with the practice, moments like this feel particularly meaningful.

Nothing’s all good or all bad. A broken string and a cracked bridge pin could send any guitar enthusiast into a spin. but a few deep breaths, some super glue and a whole new set of strings later, that broken string now looks like a catalyst for a new and improved sound.

This is life.
Nothing lasts forever. Things break. People get injured or sick. It’s what you do about that that counts.

The vitalistic framework that chiropractic provides always has us looking for the best way to respond to health challenges. Turns out your health challenge will respond fastest when you’re supported, adaptable and working with your body, not against it.

Healing isn’t always neat or linear, but with the right care, the right input and a little patience, setbacks can become turning points.

Footy season is back… which means one thing for parents 🚗

More time in the car.
More trips to training.
More weekends at fields all over the Northern Beaches (and beyond).

But here’s the twist—this season, that drive time becomes your posture reset.

Try this on your next red light:
✔️ Gently press your head into the headrest (chin slightly tucked, eyes forward)
✔️ Sit tall like there’s a string pulling you up through the roof
✔️ Take slow, deep belly breaths
✔️ Bonus: adjust your seat so your hips sit slightly higher than your knees

It’s simple. It’s subtle. And done consistently, it adds up.

Caught this local legend at Manly doing its morning “mobility routine” 🌊

If you look closely, this cormorant is basically running through a perfect Y-W-T-L sequence… wings out, chest open, posture on point. Nature’s original physio.

We use these same shapes at Village Chiropractic to build strong, stable shoulders and improve posture especially for all you desk-bound people out there.

movement is always better outdoors. Fresh air, natural light, a bit of ocean energy… your body (and nervous system) switches on in a whole new way.

So next time you’re working on your posture, take it outside. You might not look as graceful as this guy but you’ll feel better for it.

A full circle moment today.

Sitting here in St Leonards, just a few hundred metres from where I started my chiropractic journey 25 years ago… and it feels like the right time to share something we’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes.

Village Chiropractic is moving.

Not far ( 100 metres up the road)but into a space that gives us room to grow, connect, and do more of what we love. Ground floor, easier access, surrounded by great neighbours… and built to feel even more like home.

Think brighter, more open, more community.

We’re not there just yet (June is the goal), but this is the first peek behind the curtain.

From where it started… to what’s next.
