"Eat food, not too much, mostly plants"
- Michael Pollan
HAPPINESS.
Actual footage of happiness: A protein molecule transporting serotonin in the brain. This neurotransmitter improves will-power + produces that feeling of well-being we call happiness.
Most of us think about happiness in a logical context - when being happy is associated with doing things we enjoy, making us feel fullfilled.
But the more science understands about the human body, the more we move towards the neuroscientific approach, where happiness is achieved when your body produces feel-good neurotransmitters, like serotonin.
Seeing happiness from this perspective becomes more black and white. If you don't feel happiness then you are probably lacking in certain neurotransmitters.
There a many proven methods to boost serotonin levels, these are some of my faves;
• Spend time in nature
• Eat foods that Boost serotonin: salmon, nuts, seeds, eggs, tofu, chicken, spinach
• Exercise
• Sunlight
• Share your thoughts with a friend
If you are struggling to find your happy, it might be nice to implement one or more of these simple strategies to help give you a boost.
