First lid comb for the year 2025. Some redbox but mostly yellow box.
For those that don't know; Occasionally a hive grows faster than expected and bees build wild comb in the lid of the hive then fill it with honey. Eating the lid comb is a beekeepers special privilege.

HOT Honey is our new chilli Infused natural honey. Its hot but not too hot. The taste testing we have done confirms we have the level of chilli in the goldilocks zone.
Hot honey will definitely elevate your breakfast toast but really shines when used as a drizzel on vegetables especially sweetcorn. Another idea is basting a roast chook 10 mins before serving. Watch this page for more ideas.
Don't forget our real pure natural honey and creamed honey are still available.

First queen cells for 2025. Procedure now is to find and move the old queen to a nucleus hive then allow these cells to hatch and the new queen to mate. Once she is laying (about the end of Oct) we can then decide of we keep the old queen or dispatch her and re unite the nuc back with the hive. She is a good queen so we will probably keep her for breeding.

Save this one for summer
Use WILD HIVE chilli infused HOT honey for an extra kick.
𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔹𝕖𝕖’𝕤 𝕂𝕟𝕖𝕖𝕤- 𝟜 𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖 𝕀𝕟𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕕𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕀𝕟𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕕𝕚𝕓𝕝𝕪 ℝ𝕖𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘

2 oz Gin
3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 oz WILD HIVE hot Honey Syrup*
Pinch of Salt.
We used Hellfire Bluff (Tasmania) summer floral gin but you can use whatever you want. A pink gin might be nice.
Combine all ingredients together in a shaker and shake over ice. Strain this cocktail drink into a glass.
*Honey Syrup- for this recipe, combine 2 parts Wild Hive Chilli infused Hot honey to 1 part hot water. Mix well until honey breaks down into syrup like form. You can store a batch of this syrup in the fridge for up to a month.

Wild hive Lip balm hand made from all natural ingredients. Local natural triple filtered beeswax, organic shea butter, and organic coconut oil. Flavours available are Natural beeswax (no added flavour) Lime, mandarin and my wife's favorite, Lemon myrtle - an Australian Native essential oil

Honey and Fetta cheese in pastry garnished with blueberries and mint. (The original idea was a danish pastry)
We decided it would work just as well with cream cheese. Adding a little salt seemed to lift the flavour profile.
250g fetta 3 tablespoons wild hive honey

This is the last of my home grown pumpkins from last season.

Honey roast pumpkin.
Combine 1.5 tablespoons olive oil,
1 tablspn honey,
1 crushed clove of garlic. (Optional)
1 onion
Warm the mixture in a small bowl over hot water to help the honey to flow.
Chunk the pumpkin and onion
Place prepared pumpkin and onion in a large bowl or baking tray and drizzle with oil/honey mix. Toss the pumpkin in the dressing with hands to more evenly coat the pumpkin pieces.
Bake around 40 mins or until tender turning occasionally.
Cook a further 10 mins then blend with chicken or vegetable stock for roast pumpkin soup.
