If I am stressed or overwhelmed or just sick of the world ticking way to fast, I put on some music and sit at my sewing machine. Sewing is my happy place. That’s what I want to share with you! How did Sewing with Amber start? These classes were created after a fellow Mum’s request to teach her how to sew. Since that request, I started a small class and taught at the local Community Centre. It was

an all new experience and way outside my comfort zone, but I am so glad that I did because since that first class, Sewing with Amber has evolved into what it is today. I came to discover that people want a space to create in an environment free from stress and technology. A place to recharge and learn and become immersed in a skill that has the ability to allow people to express who they are through their projects. I also get to meet some of the most amazing people.

Sewing tomorrow night I will have a shorts pattern for the beginner sewers at the hall from size kids 1 all the way up to adult size 2 xl. True to size.

If you would like to make some shorts, please bring:
>1 metre of quilters cotton or cotton drill (1.25metres for size xl to 2xl)
>1 metre of woven or knitted elastic 20mm or 25mm wide (1.25metres for size xl to 2xl)

Our Story

The classes were created after a fellow mum’s request to teach her how to sew. Since that request, I started a small mums and bubs sewing class. It was loud and sometimes chaotic, but it was inspiring and it was what we needed as busy mums, as a place to chat and learn and build each other up.

A bit about me; My love of sewing dates back to when i was a young girl. After spending many hours making and designing for my friends, family and myself, I decided to study Fashion design and manufacture, so I could learn how to do it properly.
