Say Hi to Kayla 👋🏼
Kayla is our newest gem to our team at Marcoola Balance Yoga 💕
Yoga started calling her back in 2008 when she started practicing alongside yoga dvd’s at home, because she was too scared to go to a class and do it wrong.
Kayla finally attended her first class in 2010 and signed up for a 30 day challenge after her second class.
“I wanted to immerse myself, but mainly, to build my confidence with the practice and within myself. Yoga has given me the deepest sense of community I have ever experienced, no matter where I am. It has also allowed me to explore, face, and be with the deepest parts of myself. It has taught me that ‘freedom is in the discipline’ as one of my teachers used to say, and it’s transformed my relationship with pain in a way that has softened me. Yoga continues to keep me open through all of life’s seasons”
Kayla’s favourite pose is Koundinyasana or Flying Splits, and she loves it in all its forms! It makes her feel like a boss because it looks impressive, yet feels less about strength and more about balance, open hips and the courage to express 💫
“It’s extremely playful and lights me up ✨”
Three Fun Facts about Kayla are:
✨ Her name means banana in Hindi 🍌 which made travelling India really fun!
✨ She is totally introverted yet a wild animal on a dance floor (even at 11 yrs sober)
✨ She is constantly rearranging her home, unintentionally but consistently aligned with the moon, her cycle, or both ~ she loves to move that energy 💫
