💚 Leading into International Women’s Day 2026

As we move toward International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the women and women-led services who quietly, consistently enrich life in the Augusta Margaret River region.

These are the people doing the steady work, supporting wellbeing, building connection, advocating for others, holding space, creating safety, and strengthening our community in ways that don’t always make headlines, but matter deeply.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing stories that recognise local women and services who contribute to the health, care, and resilience of our region, across mental health, community support, education, advocacy, and beyond.

This is about visibility, appreciation, and connection.
Because when women are supported, communities thrive.

More to come on International Women’s Day 💚

From Mind-Ed, the region’s trusted connector for mental health, wellbeing, and community care.

💚 Self-Injury Awareness Day | 1 March 💚

Today is about awareness, understanding, and compassion.

Self-injury is often a response to overwhelming emotional distress, not attention-seeking, not weakness, and not something to be judged. For many people, it can be a way of coping when emotions feel too big or hard to express.

At Mind-Ed, we believe awareness is about reducing stigma, encouraging early support, and creating communities where people feel safe to talk and ask for help.

If you or someone you care about is struggling, support is available:

Accidental Counsellor strengthens mental health literacy and practical communication skills, helping participants recognise signs of distress, start caring conversations, and connect people to safety and support, while also protecting their own wellbeing.

How to access a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) 🌿

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, low, anxious, or just not yourself, a Mental Health Care Plan can help you access subsidised mental health support locally.

How it works:
1️⃣ Book a long appointment with a local GP
2️⃣ Talk with your GP about your mental health
3️⃣ If suitable, they’ll create an MHCP
4️⃣ Access up to 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions per year with a psychologist, social worker, or OT

This support is available through Medicare.

💡 Some services are bulk billed, others may have a gap fee, it’s okay to ask.

You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out.

Support is for everyday stress, burnout, grief, parenting pressure, and more.

💚 Mind-Ed is here to help connect you with local support in the Augusta–Margaret River region.

What We Do 💚

Mind-Ed exists to support the mental health and wellbeing of the Augusta Margaret River community through prevention, education, and connection.

We deliver preventative mental health education, promote wellbeing and awareness, and work alongside local services, schools, government agencies, and community organisations to strengthen pathways to care. Our role is to help people understand what support is available, where to find it, and how to access it, before things reach crisis point.

We believe mental health support should feel local, human, and easy to navigate. By building strong relationships across our region, we aim to reduce stigma, increase access to trusted support, and empower individuals, families, and organisations with the knowledge and tools they need to care for themselves and each other.

Because prevention matters, and connection is the first step to care 💚🌿

Valentine’s Day 💗

Love isn’t just about romance.
It’s about communication, care, repair, and commitment. Especially when life feels busy, stressful, or uncertain.

Strong relationships don’t happen by accident.

They’re built through listening, honesty, boundaries, and learning how to navigate challenges together.

At Mind-Ed, we recognise relationship wellbeing as an important part of mental health. Whether you’re feeling connected, disconnected, or somewhere in between, support can help strengthen understanding and deepen connection.

On this Valentine’s Day, we invite couples to think about love as a practice, not a performance.

💞 Support can help with:
• communication and conflict
• rebuilding trust
• navigating life changes or stress
• strengthening emotional connection
• creating healthier patterns together

Our website lists relationship guidance and counselling services under Mental Health & Counselling, because seeking support is a sign of care, not failure.

Connection starts with conversation.

International Day of Women & Girls in STEM

📅 February 11

When women and girls are supported to step into STEM, whole communities benefit.

STEM isn’t just about science or technology. It’s about problem-solving, innovation, critical thinking, and shaping the systems we all rely on; from health and education to climate, infrastructure, and care.

Yet too many girls still receive subtle messages about who belongs, who leads, and who speaks up.

At Mind-Ed, we believe prevention starts early.
Confidence grows when girls see themselves reflected.
Wellbeing grows when systems are inclusive by design.
Change grows when opportunity is shared.

Today we celebrate the women and girls already leading, learning, questioning, building, and imagining, and we commit to supporting environments where curiosity is encouraged, voices are valued, and potential isn’t limited by gender.

Because when women and girls thrive, communities do too.
