Say hello to your therapist!

Blake is obsessed with surfing and travel. He also loves motorbikes, freediving, personal work, gaming, outdoors, and extensive down time.

He's terrible with his phone and continues to have a problem with chocolate (caramello).

The foundation of all good therapy is a deep authentic connection with your therapist. If you choose to work with Blake, you can expect a comfortable, conversational, and down to earth approach. You won't find him in a fancy tie or with a fake plant.

My biggest teachers of courage and healing from adversity have always been my clients.

Thanks to the wisdom and life experience of the people I work with, I've had the privilege and honour of developing a style of collaborative psychotherapy that empowers clients by centring them as the expert of their own life.

My work is truly a legacy of every client I have ever worked with – all those who have taught me about surviving hardship and post-traumatic growth.

Blake’s practice is what he calls “therapy beyond the therapist“. This means that people are viewed as and supported to be the experts in their own mental health. This supports people to be empowered and dignified in their recovery and growth.

What does this look like in therapy? Blake uses a range of strategies to support you to make meaning based on your own psychology, rather than the therapist’s. This is collaborative psychotherapy, where your therapist acts as a facilitator and consults with you in developing your own psychology and meaning making. This occurs through a deep authentic connection with your therapist.

This approach is about sustainably getting you to where you want to be, to move beyond therapy, and be/become your own expert.
