A little career/life update 🤍

Over the past few years my work as a naturopath has been built upon helping women with their health, hormones and fertility, but it has also been changing and evolving (naturally as we all do!).

I’ve realised in this past year how passionate I am about sport, performance, recovery and proper nutrition for ALL active people.

So… I’ve officially enrolled in my postgraduate diploma in sports nutrition 🏃🏼‍♀️

It honestly feels like I’m going back to my roots as originally it was my sports nutritionist that inspired me to begin studying nutrition back in 2014 🙈

I’m really excited to deepen my knowledge and eventually offer more specialised support for endurance athletes, busy mums and active humans. And of course with a foundation of naturopathic philosophies and a special place for women’s health/hormones and fertility as well 🩷

I will be reducing my capacity to consult during this study period, but will still have limited spots available so DM me if you’d like to see me. Otherwise, thank you for being here and following along my journey, back to school we go 👩‍🎓☺️

Hot tip from your naturopath over here 🙌

If you’ve been told to do fasting bloods (and unless your practitioner says otherwise), aim to get them done first thing in the morning.

But this is the part I see so many people miss… skip your workout beforehand!

Training can temporarily shift your biomarkers and lead to misleading / “false” results — especially when we’re assessing things like:
🩸 Iron status
📈 Liver markers
💧 Electrolytes

Which means we might end up chasing problems that aren’t actually there… or missing ones that are.

So I don’t know who needs to hear this but:
Delay the session. Get the bloods. THEN go train 💪

Your results (and your practitioner) will thank you.

Save this for next time you have pathology booked ✔️

Running a half marathon at 10 months postpartum was something I felt really proud of.

But I was also more depleted than I expected.

Not because I wasn’t fit.
But because postpartum training places a very real physiological demand on the body.

Underfuelling.
Dehydration.
Treating recovery like something that was optional.

These things matter.

Especially when you’re balancing motherhood, sleep disruption, hormones and training.

If you’re in a return-to-exercise season — be kind to your body.

Support it. Fuel it. Recover it.

You will perform better because of it.

In my running era but far from a running influencer 😂

As much as instagram is trying to condition my brain that running 4min/km is normal and I should be doing this or that… running for me is sooo much more than pace. It’s a little bit of me time, to regulate my nervous system (not overload it which sometimes means a very slow run or walk) and to feel good in my body.

As a former athlete it can be hard to turn my brain off to trying to reach PBs and compete (so I do have some small personal goals…) but always have to remind myself this is a different season of life and it’s not the time to be pushing my body to the extreme.

Being up half the night breastfeeding, not having a full night of sleep for almost two years, the daily demands of parenting plus whatever else life throws us, it’s a season of giving some grace and taking the small wins.

If anything, this is a reminder to stop comparing to what you see on insta, some of us are just chugging along and putting one foot in front of the other 😊🙏

Four months since my last post, oops! Definitely not the queen of consistency over here 🙃 I wanted to give a little reflection to the year that was as we draw closer to the new year. To say thank you to all my beautiful clients for trusting me with your health, and to my followers for sticking with me through a crazy year! It’s been a year full of growth, change, sickness (toddler life..) and so much learning as I navigate balancing the wild ride of motherhood with growing my little business. So if you’re still here, thank you 🩷 and I can’t wait to see where 2026 takes us!

Thank you to all who signed up for my monthly newsletter 🤗 this is what you can expect this month in your inbox. It’s been busy in my little clinic this month (my busiest since returning from maternity leave!) and I’m excited to work with some new faces.

If you’d like to work with me in August, send me an email or DM to organise a time. And be sure to sign up for next months wellness newsletter if you want more holistic content 🥰

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend staying dry and warm in this crazy weather 🙃

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”

What are your daily non-negotiables that support your health? Here are my favourite 5 currently 🙏

1. Movement, depending on the day and how I’m feeling, it could be a walk, a run, a swim, surf, gym, moving my body everyday is one of the best things I can do for both my physical and mental health

2. Hydrate! Getting in those 2L! Especially when breastfeeding, it can feel like you haven’t drunk for two weeks and been stuck out in the desert 🌵 hydrating is key key key

3. Breakfast first, then coffee. I love my coffee ☕️ but I also find having breakfast first is so much better for my stress response and gut health, try it out, see what you think.

4. Prioritising protein! This has recently been reminded to me after I was feeling depleted and run down, not prioritising balanced meals and eating scraps off of what I was making for Ruby instead. Getting at least 20g of protein in each meal helps to keep my energy levels consistent throughout the day and also prevent big crashes in the afternoon (hello sugar cravings!).

5. Positive self talk. Cultivating a positive mindset and feeling safe in your mind is so so sooo important to your overall health. And it can start with simple steps such as cutting out the negative self talk and replacing it with something positive instead. I like the exercise that if you think something negative about yourself, replace it with 3 positive things instead. Small changes have big impacts 🤍

If you’ve come this far, thank you! What are some of your daily non negotiables? I’d love to know 🤍

Passionflower…or Passiflora incarnata 🤌 is one of my favourite and most used herbs for anxious minds and bodies. This herb is like the big breath of fresh air you need when you feel that anxious mind taking over, or the warm cup of tea..whichever you prefer ☺️

A growing body of evidence in clinical research is showing just how effective this herb can be for the management of generalised anxiety disorder, yay for more research showing how amazing herbs can be! But it has also been used for hundreds of years to support not only anxiety, but sleep problems and stress as well. It’s known as the calming herb 🌿 💆‍♀️

Think you need some Passi in your life? Send me a DM and we can have a chat 🥰

If you’ve been struggling with gut issues or other symptoms that may be related to your gut (e.g., fatigue, brain fog, headaches, skin problems, food intolerances, constant colds/illness) then it may be time to get to the root cause!

I’m a huge advocate for the ‘test don’t guess’ approach when it comes to treatment especially when the gut microbiome is involved. I want to know exactly what we are targeting and hit it with the most individualised treatment.

One way to do this is through functional gut microbiome testing. I’ve been lucky enough to have been given 30% off for all my patients gut microbiome tests through for the next month.

If this is something you’ve been wanting to do, this offer won’t last long so send me a message and we can get started! x
