We need more Yin Yoga in the world! Haha—so tell your friends, share this far and wide, and join us for our Third‑Gen 60 HR Yin Yoga Teacher Training, designed to deepen your practice through the lens of the Five Elements.

What makes this training unique?

1. Elemental Immersion
Each day we focus on one Element—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water. We begin with a practice engineered to nourish the corresponding meridian lines, awakening energy where it wants to flow.
2. Anatomy Uncovered
You’ll explore fascia, tension patterns, stress holding, myofascial lines, and skeletal variations. We dissect how each tissue responds to long holds and subtle adjustments.
3. Traditional Chinese Medicine & Yin Philosophy
Dive into TCM theory behind every posture. Understand elemental qualities, yin–yang balance, and how ancient wisdom informs modern practice.
4. Integration Practice
We close each day with a dedicated session that weaves together Element, anatomy, and philosophy—ensuring the day’s insights settle into body and mind.
By November 14th, you’ll graduate as a confident, well‑informed Yin Yoga teacher with your own authentic voice—ready to guide students into deep stillness, resilience, and self‑awareness.

This post is a follow-up to one of our recent reels—and a reminder that you can love yoga, be spiritual (or not), and still be 100% you.

You don’t have to be calm all the time.

Behind the Stillness — Preparing for Our Yin YTT

This week, our Yin Yoga Teacher Training finally began—and with it, a dream long in the making has come to life.

What you don’t always see are the months and months that lead up to a training like this. Over the past half-year, the three of us—Fran, Katie & Sarah—have been meeting regularly: poring over content, photographing postures, updating the manual, diving into discussions about skeletal variation, swapping podcasts, sending voice notes, and holding space for each other through the highs and lows of everyday life.

Most of this unfolded at Grass Tree, our familiar meeting ground, often accompanied by the joyful chaos of Joni & Charlie when babysitters were unavailable (which, let’s be honest, was often).

Between writing sessions and photo shoots, there were shared meals, deep laughs, and the occasional inside joke—like slipping mushrooms into the cacao (don’t worry, we didn’t!). And somehow, amidst all the Yin, there were also attempts at pincha practice, usually led by Fran while Sarah and Katie cheered (and trembled) from below.

We became each other’s fascia: connected, supportive, strong in our softness.

As the start date approached, the tempo quickened—prepping food, setting up spaces, cleaning homes, tying up loose ends, and soaking up moments with family before stepping fully into the yinside. The quiet work was being done, not just in manuals and meetings, but in hearts and minds.

Hundreds of voice memos. A swirl of ideas. Laughter, nerves, a few tears. And now here we are—in the middle of it all—grateful, grounded, and fully present in this shared journey.

If you’re pregnant, give yourself (and your baby) the gift of connection, strength, and calm.

Our Prenatal Yoga class is lovingly guided by Maria — a physiotherapist, a yoga teacher with over 10 years of experience, and most importantly, mama to little Luna, who’s almost one.

Prenatal yoga has been shown to improve sleep, ease physical discomfort, and even support a smoother, less painful birth. But more than anything, it offers a sacred space to slow down, regulate your nervous system, and connect deeply with yourself and your growing baby.

All stages of pregnancy welcome.

When one heart breaks, we all feel it.

Our dear friends Laura and Jeff experienced the heartbreaking loss of their daughters, Phoebe and Margot. Through their journey, we were introduced to In Memory of You, an incredible not-for-profit dedicated to supporting families through unimaginable loss. Their work inspired us to host a YOGATHON — to honour Phoebe and Margot, and to help raise awareness and funds for this amazing organisation and the families they support.

Join us on Saturday, 14 June, for a full day of yoga, community, and connection.

All proceeds will go directly to In Memory of You.

A Swell Story

The idea to birth Swell Yoga Studio in Margaret River came after many years of experiencing world class yoga teachers on the east coast of Australia and overseas. After many day dreams, and years of travel, the Founders decided to settle some roots in the small coastal town of Margs, and to bring all they had discovered from years of adventure, to the Southwest WA.
