People move for all sorts of reasons, but there’s one that stands out: to close the gap between everything else we do.

If you’re into weight lifting, maybe you’re missing that elastic, gliding feeling in your fascia.

If you’re a yogi, you might be skipping over functional resistance training or finding new edges in your body that traditional poses don’t always reach.

But here’s the truth - we all share one powerful desire: to feel more alive, more energised, more ourselves!

And that’s really what Helix practices are all about.

Life has a way of piling on the layers, sometimes so subtly that we don’t even notice.

When you make a decision purely for your inner self, when you move in a way that’s totally you, it feels incredible!

That’s when you break free from the usual, and let me tell you, it’s the most exhilarating, empowering feeling in the world.

This is how I got into surfing in Hawaii, travelled the world, changed professions or direction of teaching, moved to Australia, left a relationship that was harmonious, and yet not IT!, had a child at 42 with the man of my dreams!

Sometimes it's just a wiggle to the left, or a letting-go of a held believe (posture) - sometimes it feels like going through little mini-deaths that allow you to move into your true strengths.

I invite you to do you, and move like you want to move in the moment. It will make you want to go back for more.

Make decisions that are all about you, not how anyone else is doing it - because life feels so damn good when you do.

Helix doors close in about 24 hours (Sunday, 11.59 pm AWST) and won’t open again for a while. Join us. And if you’ve got any questions, DM me or comment below! :)

You’ve been told your whole life to ‘bend your knees’ when lifting…and then you learned that this advice is as outdated as floppy disks and plastic bottles. 🧐You begin to learn that movement research is vast, and ever-changing and somewhat slow; that fascia reseach exists and that gaining strength and exercising isn’t about muscles only. That there’s something far more dynamic at play within us, something that goes beyond the simple mechanics of bones and muscles, or of the ’mechanics’ of the body.Beneath (and with) the surface of our skin, a fascinating world awaits - the world of fascia, the sacred web that holds your entire being together. This isn’t just about movement; it’s about connection, about life in flow, and honouring the intricate design of your body.Fascia is the unseen force that reminds us that everything is intertwined - our thoughts, our movements, nervous system, our emotions. 🌿✨ And this reminder becomes especially clear when we move.💫 So, WHAT IF THE WAY WE NAVIGATE THE WORLD - both physically and emotionally - IS A REFLECTION OF HOW WELL WE UNDERSTAND THIS DEEPER CONNECTION? 🙌🏽IF YOU‘RE INTRIGUED ABOUT WHY WE DON‘T NEED TO BEND OUR KNEES WHEN LIFTING AND by this deeper connection and eager to explore how fascia can transform your movement and life, join us in embracing a new way of being - one filled with grace, intention, and harmony. Membership doors are closing end of next week, and won’t open for a while. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of something beautiful. 🌀With so much love, Alexa xo

Hey friends! I’m running a Hypopressive Training challenge this month, kicking off with a 1 hour introductory class on the 6th of June! Join us if you like!

Hypopressive is great for women and men.

I think all of us agree, that we don’t speak enough about pelvic floor health for men!

(Helix members join for free! You’ll get all the info in our community!)

…….

I was quite impressed 😳 by the seismic shift my body underwent post-40, particularly in the throes of pregnancy and beyond.

As a mum and small business owner, I‘m committed to maintaining health and regaining my fitness and mental well-being. I fully love my kaleidoscopic life, and needed something effective and efficient.

(And, must I even mention?): Naturally, as seasoned fan of fascia, an educator for Anatomy Trains and the art of motion Academy, delving into the (your fascial deep core) intrigued me to no end. 🤓

And boy, did it deliver beyond expectations.

I dove into Hypopressive Training while pregnant with Yago. I was so keen (and curious!) that I hired a private trainer to earn my stripes as certified Hypopressive teacher and trainer in 2021. And I’m so glad I did! 👩🏽‍🎓📚

⚡️Masterclass & 5-Day Challenge Incoming! 🫁

If you’re ready to learn the Hypopressive technique, join us for a masterclass on June 6th (recording provided), which includes a 5-day challenge, for just $20 AUD. Plus, you’ll get 1 month of access (immediately) to the Helix Fascia Movement membership . 🥳

DM me or comment BREATH to get the details and sign up for the training & 5-day challenge.

Let’s breathe together!

Hey there, my dear!

✨ Let’s dive into the world of nerve glides, a effective addition to your fascia movement repertoire ! 💫

🧘‍♀️ Nerve glides are like a love letter to your nerves, ensuring they’re at their “glide-iest” and “unstickiest” best, helping you tap into myofascial structures efficiently. 🌟

🌍🚨 Innervation of muscular fascia is your body’s internal GPS and alarm system, essential for proprioception and nociception.

🤝 Nerve tension often correlates with tight muscles, and here’s the magic:

* Keep the stretch comfortable at a level 2-3 intensity.
* Stay within this cozy range.
* Quality over quantity - aim for 5-10 reps per nerve, per leg, per day.

Meet our star players:
🌟 FEMORAL NERVE: The thigh’s muscle powerhouse, the MVP behind kicking, standing, walking, and responsible for sensation on the front and inside of your thigh.

🌟 OBTURATOR NERVE: The lumbar plexus VIP, in charge of medial thigh muscles. It’s in charge of those medial thigh muscles (the adductors), except for the hamstring part of the adductor magnus, sensation, and your hip & knee joints.

Fascia fans, here’s the scoop:

🤓 EPINEURIUM: The outer fascial wrap.
🤓 PERINEURIUM: Around each bundle of axons.
🤓 ENDONEURIUM: Individual axon’s fascia layer.

Give these nerve-glides a whirl and share your experience.

And remember, less is often more when nurturing those precious nerves.

Sending love and good vibes your way! 💖✨ - A xo

We may think it’s our body shape or size
We may think it’s our injury and (p)rehab
We think it’s the embodiment of what we teach, or the practice to accomplish a pose, technique or move
We believe it’s health and longevity
We believe it’s community or maybe status
We think it’s our mental health

…all this is true. Wether you can see it or not…

… ultimately it’s a feeling.

The feeling of aliveness
The feeling of a fullbody yes and lightness
The flow
The feeling of being centered- and grounded
The feeling of strength, endurance, agility and limberness
The feeling of effort, of reaching your limits
The feeling of overcoming
…and too of peace and stillness where all noise simply dissolves
…the sweetly deep feeling of belonging.

The feeling of being yourself.

My friend, honour & follow the feeling.

More than anything else it will move you further than you ever can imagine.

Want to look great in your new dress at the next Christmas party? 🎄

Or captivate yourself (fun!) and your people with your energetic yet relaxed aura.

Or make peace with the ever-emerging question: Is my posture good? Is it good enough? 🤔

Let’s experiment: swap out the word ‘posture’ for ‘poise’ and see what happens.

Do you notice more options unfolding for yourself?
Instead of pulling your shoulders back, head back, and sucking in your belly (and smiling 😬).

Remember, we are, as our bodies an ever evolving state of energy. How we access the energy is an inside (emotional, psychological & ) job.

Let’s give it a go!

We, as humanity have to bring our hearts together, and create second by second the world we want to live in.

With every heartbeat you create the reality of your own life, of your own four walls, and how the ways our local, and global communities live together.

We can do better than this.

Love can do better than this.

CHOOSING DISCOMFORT(listen closely for our Mikey Mouse voices whilst blueberry picking to get the subliminal message of this reel 😁)

It’s not a secret, and scientifically proven that the more we lean into discomfort the better our mental, physical and spiritual health.
The biggest hurdle is that we often get stuck in our comfort zones without noticing, unless we are challenged to leave them. Otherwise we can find endless reasons to stay within them.

Choosing to sit on the floor for our meals for years (before we had Yago), cold showers, barefoot walking, purchasing a property that requires constant ‚work’, having chickens, growing our own food on the ground instead of raised garden beds, early rises for empty lineups, meditating, breathwork, having uncomfortable conversations without raising our voices, mostly carrying our shopping and child instead of pushing or pulling them along, are things Luke and I consciously choose to do, for our overall health and happiness. For you it may be your ice bath, or Yoga class, a bodywork session that addresses your tight ____fill in the blank____. It all can feel so painfully stupid at the time - but refreshing and rewarding in hindsight.

We realise our immense privileges - and that there’s a lot of people who don’t have the choices we have. Constantly nurturing this awareness through discomfort isn’t only healthy, but also can turn into being something helpful.

Disclaimer: As I write this I’m sitting in an air conditioned room, whilst it’s stinking hot outside. I choose my battles - and maybe one day my Germanic body will be able to stand the heat. Who knows, one day at a time.

How about you? 🫵💛😊What have you done today to challenge your comfort zones?
