It is a fascia-focussed body-minded movement method. This integral mat-based training can be enhanced and adapted with massage balls or other small supportive props. In this class the focus lies on the health-enhancing qualities of fascia, which contribute to the balance of your posture, movement efficiency and your vitality. The contrasting movement sequences contain dynamic and rhythmical, as well as soft and melting exercises in all body positions. The method is based on new findings in fascia research and movement science. The sense of well-being and freedom after a Slings class is priceless! Movement Therapy & Slings
Movement therapy is divers, and its richness is optimally enhanced with the fascia-focussed Slings Myofascial Training concept. The focus lies on you alone; your long and short-term goals, which can range from rehabilitation to better athleticism or just being more at home in your body. The integral exercises are mat-based and can be enhanced with massage balls or other small supportive props. Through the integration of Slings Myofascial Training physical resources are further strengthened and structural balance is optimised. This enhanced movement efficiency and self-healing capacities are being activated. The person is integrally supported in the somatic and psycho-emotional processes. The sacred fire, the fire of destruction, the fire of transformation, the fire of renewal, the fire of purification…

Flames and fires are mesmerising and what they stand for around the world is many things and their symbolism is equally rich.

I have experience all the above “fires” once again in this reflection time here in Nepal. Yet it’s not only been quiet reflection, just like a fire needs to get fed by wood, and air my inner fire has been fed with reflections, triggers, possibilities to “see” and many opportunities to destroy unhealthy identities, nurturing and strengthening my rituals and practices that assist me to live in the present moment the best I can. Fuelled by many purifying flames burning old patterns and habits that I have long outgrown. Illuminating shadow aspects I didn’t even know where there and helping me to transform them into my integral being.

I hope you gift yourself time each day to attune inward and longer patches each year where you can fully step back for a while from daily life to reopen the riches of “earths mystery school”.

How can understanding the Anatomy Trains body map help us make sense of plantar fasciitis?

Let’s start with the Superficial Back Line (SBL) — the plantar fascia is part of this line. The SBL is a myofascial continuum that transmits force over long distances, from the soles of the feet all the way up to the head along the back body.

What does that mean in practice?
It means that pain or overload in the plantar fascia may not be a local problem at all. The issue could be stemming from further up the line. If tension, load, or force isn’t being managed well elsewhere along the SBL, the plantar fascia may end up taking more than its fair share.

But in Anatomy Trains in Motion, we don’t stop there.
We also explore Switches and Round Houses (RH). For now, let’s stay with the Round House. The plantar fascia functions as a myofascial Round House — think of it like a roundabout in a road system. Many “roads” (myofascial lines) pass through and converge here.
When these lines are dynamically balanced, the “traffic” (force) is evenly distributed. This supports the underside of the foot and contributes to efficient support of the entire back body.

However, if one or more myofascial lines — such as the SFL, LL, SPL, or DFL — are not dynamically balanced, this will influence the Round House. In other words, it will influence the plantar fascia.
This is where the AT body map becomes invaluable. By understanding the relationships between lines and Round Houses, we can start to uncover why the plantar fascia may be overloaded or under-supported.
For example, I recently worked with a client where it became clear that the issue stemmed from insufficient tensional strength in the Deep Front Line (DFL). As a result, parts of her plantar fascia lacked adequate fascial tension and support, forcing other lines to compensate — and that’s where strain and discomfort showed up.
