Recently, Shadow Minister for Aged Care Senator Anne Ruston, Ariana Doolan MP, and I sat down with a number of local aged care providers and businesses to discuss the Federal Government’s recent changes to the aged care sector.

These local providers do incredible work every day supporting older Australians, and it was great to hear directly from them about the challenges they are facing on the ground, including workforce shortages, rising costs, and the increasing demand for aged care services in our growing region.

Meetings like this are so important because they ensure that the real experiences and concerns of our local providers are heard in Canberra, where decisions about the future of aged care are being made.

A big thank you to all those who took the time to join the discussion and share their insights. I will continue to take your feedback to Parliament as we work towards an aged care system that better supports both our seniors and the staff who care for them.

We’ve got some fabulous news to share!

At the recent Queensland Dovida Awards night, we your Dovida Brisbane North and Caboolture team, were honoured to be named: Queensland Office of the Year!

We also won the Excellence in Quality Award!

And... as we advised yesterday, our Caregiver Dean took out Caregiver of the Year!

We’re extremely proud, and very grateful to be recognised by these prestigious awards, and it’s all thanks to our wonderful clients and families who inspire us every day.

Thankyou to our entire team who bring their authentic selves to work everyday, doing their best for our clients. From our Schedulers you speak to on the phones, our Caregivers who assist in the home, Our Caregiver coaches who work with the Caregivers to provide the best service, our Care Managers and Care Admin who ensure you are utilising your Home Care Packages well, and ensuring the right care is in place, our finance team and leadership team. Every person in our team plays their part, and does so with all their heart.

Here’s to continuing our circle of care, compassion, and wellbeing with a lot of heart - empowering you, our amazing clients, to live Your Life, Your way.

👩‍🍳 Reablement in Action at Dovida! 🥣

This week we had the absolute pleasure of seeing one of our wonderful clients back in the kitchen, doing what he loves — baking! With a little support from our Caregiver Linda, they whipped up a batch of warm, buttery scones and shared them with the Dovida team.

Reablement is all about empowering people to regain confidence and independence in everyday activities, and what better way to celebrate progress than with fresh scones and big smiles?

Thank you to our amazing clients for reminding us everday how powerful small wins can be.
