The Natural Funeral Company of Adelaide

The Natural Funeral Company of Adelaide The Natural Funeral Company was formed in an effort to make funerals more colourful, loving, less of It’s always your choice.

The Natural Funeral Company is all about family, helping to tell the story of a loved ones life. Most of the team are family members and we aim to make funerals more colourful, less officious and more environmentally friendly. We realise that death is a scary and taboo subject, but all the team at The Natural Funeral Company work hard to make funerals a better experience. At The Natural Funeral Company we can offer a simple service by separating the cremation from the funeral ceremony. All transfers and preparations are made and we return the ashes to the family, giving them the freedom to hold a funeral, memorial or celebration of life wherever, whenever and however they choose. Alternatively, a full chapel or church service of a more traditional nature can be held with a burial or cremation following. When a family first contacts The Natural Funeral Company, we will talk them through the process involved, visit them at the family home to make formal arrangements and for document signing and discuss their personal needs. We make sure that their wishes are honoured, such as using a simple coffin or placing a red rose on the coffin.

One of the great joys of providing services at Partridge House is the flexibility. The service inside can be setup for intimate or larger gatherings (as shown in image). Or, weather permitting, under the giant elm tree in the garden. If the weather is bad, safely setup inside. All options include refreshments following the service.

David is dying of cancer, but he has already paid more than the cost of his funeral in insurance. Consumer advocates say he is far from alone and they want the 'rip-off' to stop.

With Wirra Wonga Stage 2 at Enfield Memorial Park now landscaped and ready, a new design of natural earth burial is now available.
There are now two options: the traditional burial with a tree/shrub planted on a grave, or be buried around a tree.
With burial around a tree, eight graves are available (2 per side) all at level one. This option is only $1000 more than the original Wirra Wonga grave price ($7,200) but finding a grave will be easier.

To coincide with our new natural coffin range, stage 2 of Wirra Wonga is thankfully getting near completion. Situated across the track from Wirra Wonga Stage 1, this is a little bit different to the original. There will be the in-line graves with wildflowers seeded over the top of the grave and there will also be a section where 8 graves are situated around a tree.
You will be able to effectively prepay a grave in the spot you want. With Wirra Wonga 1 you got the next available spot !!!

Photos of Wirra Wonga Stage 2 once they finish to follow.

After two and a half years of planning, delayed mainly due to Covid, our first delivery of Willow/Rattan/Seagrass coffins have arrived. This will bring our natural fibre range to 5 different styles plus the wool coffin.

We have made the big step of having our own exclusive range due to the existing models available are pretty ordinary to look at. Our new range has a strong bamboo internal frame and are certified fair trade.
Once we finish unpacking better photos will be posted. These are just a couple to tease you with. Pricing will be from $985 to $1600.

Our Story

The Natural Funeral Company is all about family. Most of the team are family members and we aim to make funerals more colourful, less officious and more environmentally friendly. We realise that death is a scary and taboo subject, but all the team at The Natural Funeral Company work hard to make funerals a better experience. Colin Clarke started in the funeral industry in 1988 and for many years now has helped hundreds of South Australian families in their time of great need under the brand names of Eco Funerals, Clarke Family Funerals and as an employee of Distinctive Funerals. We have a business agreement with Distinctive Funerals in regards to the use of their mortuary and office space. They have some of most experienced mortuary staff in SA and this ensures we can offer professional mortuary services. By sharing their facilities we can keep our overheads down and continue to develop new products and services. All business and funeral arrangements are made by The Natural Funeral Company. If a request by a family does not follow our natural principles we will full fill the request under our traditional service name. It’s always your choice. When a family first contacts The Natural Funeral Company, we visit them at the family home to talk through the paperwork and discuss their personal needs. We make sure that their wishes are honoured, such as using a simple cardboard coffin or placing a red rose on the coffin.
