Prof Grant Schofield what a great idea!

Netflix has just released a behind the scenes documentary of that famous TV show “The Biggest Loser” (2002-2017) that we ALL watched and it’s #1 trending

The winner of Season 8 Danny Cahill lost 239 pounds (108 kg) and won $250,000 USD. Here’s how he did it:

Diet of 800 calories a day while burning 6,000 in boot camp style.
Blood in urine, appetite suppressants, up to 8 hours a day training
Didn’t eat for 10 days before the final weigh in

After the show, he put back all the weight (photo in orange shirt below)

While this makes for great television these are real people whose lives are at stake.

New Show Idea: The Biggest Loser ❌The Biggest Behaviour Changer ✔

Episode #1: Contestants learn about fat vs carb burning and metabolism. They are each provided a coach who wasn't a nasty drill sergeant bully, but a supporter who walks alongside them through the journey?

Weighed every episode ❌ Continuous glucose monitoring showed every episode ✔

Contestants wear a continuous glucose monitor and the audience learns about normalising all their metabolic hormones like insulin, leptin, the GLP-1 system would function normally.

Exercise: 8 hours daily bootcamp style ❌Zone two aerobic exercise ✔

Contestants learn how to do Zone 2, strength training and how to keep doing it for life. They’d have a coach who helped them do what they love to do.

Short term outcome: They number on the scale might not be as low

Long term outcome: Actual success, the ability to change behaviour and keep the weight off while the number on the scale would be lower.

Some would also fail - the reality of real world weight loss. But would anyone watch this? It's hard, it takes a long time, and you don’t always come out the other side looking like a temporary fashion model.

The entertainment value is probably much lower, educational value much higher? On this basis it's not going to be Netflix anytime soon.

What did you think of the show?

It’s always been so important to me that my family are well nourished so it was a no brainer to make sure Ava had a Thermomix®. Aaliyah just started solids and look how much she loves the chicken liver parfait her mama made her!

I used to make my babies food from scratch too. It took me hours of stirring pots, waiting for it to cool and then blending the ingredients. Damn I wish I had a Thermomix® then!

It warms my heart to see my daughter (a young and capable mum - just like I was) making her family healthy home cooked meals from scratch. Now Aaliyah gets the goodies too.

Reasons why a Thermomix® is so good for a young family:

- Handsfree cook time! Instead of checking and stirring pots you can be bathing your children, reading stories or watching them play with a glass of wine in hand 🤣.

- You’ll save money making the foods you love from scratch because you actually have the time to do it.

- You control the ingredients so you know exactly what your family is eating. So much easier to manage allergies, intolerances or just reduce sugar, industrially produced seed oils and preservatives.

PS Grandma will get you a TM7 soon Aaliyah 🤣 x

Had a great time showcasing the new TM7 this afternoon! Thanks so much to everyone who came out to have a look! 🖤

I cannot tell you how much I love the new Thermomix®. You have to see this in person. It’s the larger screen and better access to cookidoo®, the subtle changes in how the recipes present, the larger Varoma® capacity and the quieter cooking for me. 🖤

I’m planning another so please let me know if you’re on the Sunshine Coast and want to come along. 🖤

🥜Peanut butter protein crisp bars 🍁

I spend waaaaaay too much money on the cold pressed fibre protein bars so I wanted to make a bar in the Thermomix® with great ingredients! whey protein crisps (available at Woolworths) inspired me to give it a go.

These are delicious and super quick to make in your Thermomix®:

Measure the following ingredients into the bowl:

160gms smooth peanut butter (you can make your own in the Thermomix® or use pics).
125gm whey protein crisps.
170gm maple fibre syrup.

1min/100C/reverse stir speed 1
Scrape down sides of the bowl with the spatula.
1min/100C/reverse stir speed 1

Press into a lined tin and place in the fridge.

Clean and dry your bowl then add:

50gms sugarfree white chocolate or 90% dark chocolate.
1 tsp coconut oil.

10secs/speed 10
Scrape down sides with spatula
3min/50C/speed 2

Drizzle over the top of the slice and return to the fridge for another 30mins. Cut into 8 pieces. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
