What I do.

Normally I would say I am a Chiropractor and I practise Chiropractic but to be honest, I find most people dont even know what a Chiropractor does.

The main objective you will find is that we all want our people to function at their best.

For me, I describe the process as Neurostructural Restoration.

"What the hell is that?" I can hear you think because lets be honest you would look weird saying that out loud as you walk past someone.

Neurostructural Restoration is the process where we work together to locate areas of the spine that are altering the way our nervous system works, getting those areas working the way they should, and unwinding the older layers of dysfunction to get your neurostructural system back to tip top shape.

Kind of a mouthful. Let's keep it simple and say...

We help the body remove any interference to the nervous system.

How do I test and evaluate for this?
👐 My hands
🔦 Nervous system scans
🕵️ A range of specific neurological, orthopaedic and motion tests
💀 X-rays (for those where we need a deeper look)

This isn't a one off thing, this is a process. It takes time. The process isn't a one off fix (there is no such thing)

I think it's time people start taking the time to care for the system that cares for them (all the time)

It may look like I'm laying down on the job but I'm really hard at work. Working hard on resting during my scheduled rest time.

Are you scheduling most things you do? Reading time? Nap time? Work time? Active time? P**p time? (Maybe not p**p time)

When you do, you will find that you will get more done, spend less time thinking about what's next, and not miss out on the things that "fall by the wayside"

Do you have your stuff planned out?

Present.

One of the biggest lessons both and myself are relearning this pregnancy is being present.

We both have been a touch anxious because of the speediness and earliness that Winston came earth side. Side note that speediness and earliness hasn't changed with him...

We have been caught in this cycle of "worrying" of things that haven't happened yet which interferes with what's happening now.

Enjoying our final time as just the 3 of us / Embracing how different this pregnancy has been /
Supporting other things more in the moment... Just to name a few big ones.

How many time have you been caught up in the future and ignored the present?

This has been a hard week for many people.

How many? In my sphere at 9 to be exact.

9 people needed a big emotional release.

A good solid ugly cry.

9 people overwhelmed with their relationships, pain or just how the world is at the moment.

9 people who trust me enough to just talk and let loose. It really is an honour that I can share that with them.

Have you had an ugly cry this week?

This is your wake up call.

Everything you have in life, the good and the bad, are a direct reflection of the choices you made up until that point.

You are in control. Your choices and how you react is your secret sauce.

Was your 2020 💩? Did you allow the stuff you can't control make it so?

Stop trying to control the uncontrollables.

How many times have you heard "happiness comes from within"?

That's because it does.

Today let's take responsibility for our choices and make today/tomorrow/this month/2021 our best yet.

😘

One of my goals for the next 12 weeks is to be doing more long form videos for Rise Chiropractic (and this page... It needs some love)

I have always enjoyed being slightly behind the curtain and just getting the stuff done. I really don't think that's good enough any more. It hinders my growth, it hinders our community to not see me (let's be honest here I'm pretty cool) and it hinders people's health for not knowing about me.

Also a benefit from this is all the weird face screenshots I can grab from them.

Enjoy my face for radio 😉

This is a 2020 post and this is a picture of the bear and I at the beach.

------------------

2020 has been a year hasn't it? But like every year it's what you make of it.

For us, it has been a big year and not because of the obvious

(I'm purposely not saying it because I'm sure you are all sick of the same disclaimer that the algorithm puts on a post with that word in it)

This years lessons and themes were all focused on planning and community.

Planning was a big one. Like many of you know effective time management with owning your own business is crucial and when you are in a service based industry where the service itself takes up most of that time it's even more important to lock that 💩 down. On top of all that we also had to factor in a Brissy locum for the past year when full time daycare wasn't an option. I'm glad to say those 10 minute spare time handoffs and late night finishes I don't miss.

The realisation: we have become weapons at this and 2021 is in danger of a de Silva takeover.

Community. Also big, also important. Let me just say we absolutely love our community and our people. They simply rock and I love them to bits. From the beginning purpose hinged on community. Like all things (especially how I operate) there has been alot of tinkering, fails and wins but I can solidly say that I think we found our 'sauce' and it's just starting to show. If we simmer it for a touch more I think people will be in for a treat.

Now resolutions in my opinion are s**t and you need to stop doing them. I am a fan of intentions but only for 12 weeks.

What are your intentions for the first 3 months this year?

This is a s**t post.

I was seeing a client that I really enjoy seeing the other day. We have chats about anything and everything, ranging weird to the wonderful in our lives. She asked me the typical, every day question "how are you doing?"

I answered I'm great! (which I am)

This was partially a lie because in reality I'm also 'doing' other things.

Why do we feel the need to do this? Fib about how we are? If you are doing s**t then let people know and if someone says they are doing s**t then listen. You don't need to fix someone's s**t and you shouldn't expect someone to fix your s**t for you (don't be a victim of your circumstances). S**t.

I think this year is a good reminder for us to be more open about our feelings and thoughts. Tell people how you are actually doing and tell people the weird s**t you like (you'd be surprised what s**t they like)

Here’s how I’m actually feeling:

I feel like:
⚡I need a me at home and a me at work
⚡S**t because I havent accomplished nearly what I wanted to this year
⚡Slightly overwhelmed by all the extra things this time of year brings that take away time from my family and to provide an income for my family
⚡Angry that I can't introduce Winston in person to my family for the first time for god knows how long
⚡Deeply tired
⚡Satisfied with the amazing work I do with people and the change that it brings about in their life
⚡Covered in a love blanket by and Winston
⚡Great about how we are living and where we're going

These are all great things to feel because things don't last forever, they last for how ever long you decide to let them simmer for.

Be kind, we all have s**t.

Finally planted something in the digital garden! It's just a little guy but he'll grow soon 🌿

All about being busy vs being full. My schedule has been pretty full so that's why it took me a little while to get this going ;)

Last tended to: 11 November 20 Busy. I’m too busy. I can’t do anything because I’m so busy. I can’t because I’m busy . Bulls**t. I mean the above description of animal droppings in the nicest way possible because if you are living a life that you want to live and not by others standar

People may be working for the weekend but why don't you work on the weekend?

I get a touch weird with these types of days, especially when it comes these stories we tell ourselves.

Why can't you make a yearly goal on any other day other than new years?
Why do you have to wait until next month to do something?
Why do you hate Monday so much? (It's just a day)

Shall we just make today the new day to do something? Make today the day you set your goals for the year? Actually let's change it from yearly to every 12 weeks... I'll explain later.

The about me section

I have many hats. I am a son, a brother, a father, a husband, a friend, a chiropractor and owner of Rise Chiropractic, a caffeine sampler, productivity enthusiast, an Aries, a life path 22, a sacral generator, a foodie and a consumer of all things that help me grow... just to name a few. BUT The one thing I am passionate about is helping people live their life on their terms. That my jam (strawberry please)

That statement above is something I am passionate about because I see the issues of not knowing and confidence to act with so many people. This includes me.

I am always learning and adapting things to make myself better. Usually incorrectly, but I do correct.
