We offer client centered, strength-based adventures that spark your passions and interests. We do this by meeting with you to gain an understanding of what you want and need prior to developing an individualised itinerary. This could look like a day trip up the beach to watch the waves and spot the sea life, or perhaps you’d like to explore the outdoors by sea and river via boat, and even have a fish or ski biscuit (for the real thrill seekers). Perhaps your goal requires long-term planning, for example completing one of the great walks in the area. it’s all on offer and every itinerary is solely focused on you. The difference with Inclusive Outback Adventures is that the experience is tailored to you. While overnight camps and adventuring are our expertise, we acknowledge that you may not be ready for this and we can work at it together until you feel safe, excited and ready to get adventuring.
- A support worker, friend, family member or carer can come along too. It really is all about you and all requests will be given thoughtful consideration. We endeavor to accomplish an adventure you’ll love.
- If you would prefer to meet other people because sharing the experience is what makes you most happy, we can work on making this happen too.
- Want to camp in your back yard in a premium tent or a swag for a night? let’s do it.
- Do you love bird watching, lets plan a trip with this focus.
- Want to try kayaking, mountain biking, abseiling, hiking, surfing, or play bocce cards and a game of spotlight, we do it all.
- …You may not know what you want, just that you want adventure. together we can create an idea and make some memories… Nothing is off limits (within reason!)
About Us
Hi, my name is Sam, I am 35 years young. I have two beautiful children and an amazing partner who I adore, Alex. I’ve lived on the Sunshine Coast for the last 6 years and I absolutely love the outdoors in all its beauty and rawness. I’ve spent a lot of time cruising around in my 4x4, currently a Mazda BT-50, hitting the rough tracks, cruising up the beach to seek and explore new sights, smells and experiences. A visit to any one of the local islands, Moreton, Fraser and Stradbroke (being my favourite). I live and breathe the camping lifestyle, being outdoors away from every day life brings me happiness and a sense of calm, but also a lot of fun and adventure too. I am a responsible, caring and patient person, who thrives on providing and supporting individuals to have opportunities that may usually not be accessible to them. I’ve worked in the Child Protection, Mental Health and the Disability sectors for over 12 years, having completed a Bachelor of Psychology in 2010. I’ve developed and supported people with Positive Behavioural Support Plans and I have a complex understanding of the role a support worker has in providing a sense of safety to individuals and supporting them threw their toughest moments. Most recently I have been Coordinating two care programs for young people in out of home care with a variety of needs stemming from complex trauma, disability and mental illness. The reward in walking alongside and supporting people is priceless. I am currently running this business with the support of my beautiful Partner Alex, who also works in the human services sector as a Youth Worker. While I mostly provide the opportunities and experiences, Alex is also available to support when and how required. I am developing a team of supported and dedicated individuals so that I can provide the right support worker for you. Fees
As a result of the individualised adventure experience, fees are set alongside the development of the itinerary. The business values are of accessibility for all and are competitive to the industry, with most quoted experiences being 15 to 25% less than the NDIS pricing schedule maximum rates for STA and respite. Please get in touch if more precise pricing information is required, I’m happy to support any and all queries. For NDIS clients to access your funding you need to be self-managed or plan-managed. There is future scope for NDIA managed participants but unfortunately I am unable to provide this service at this time. For self and alternative funded people, please get in touch for further information on fees. I aim to provide a great service at a fair price. The Idea
Many years ago, when I started in the human services industry as a disability support worker I was privileged to work for a small company in Perth where myself and a colleague provided holiday experiences for young adults. On one of these holidays, we took 6 young men to Margaret River where we attempted surfing, went on guided cave tours and explored the beautiful coast line and 100s of years old forest, everyone had the best time and this experience has stayed with me ever since. Fast forward 12 plus years to 2022 and after many years of experience in the sector and as many years of contemplation and consideration - Inclusive Outback Adventures was born. For a long time, I’d considered how I could best deliver services which combine my passion for supporting members of the community to reach their goals and enjoy their life with my soulful love for the outdoors and adventuring. For me, offering this service is combining two of my biggest passions - supporting people and exploring the outdoors. I am truly grateful and humble to be able to do something that is so close to my heart. Contact
