At Henbane & Heka, I wanted to create a brand that feels deeply authentic to who I am and my connection to traditional herbalism. The name “Henbane” speaks to the potent plants once revered by wise women and herbalists of the past, while “Heka” honours the ancient Egyptian goddess of magic and medicine—reminding us that healing has always been a part of something much bigger.
The Ouroboros, the symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, is the heart of my logo. It represents the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth—just like the natural healing processes in our bodies and the cycles of nature. In my practice, I believe that healing isn’t linear; it’s about finding balance, renewal, and growth, no matter where you are on your journey.
Aesthetically naturopathy commonly takes a modern, neutral look, I’ve leaned into something that feels truer to me. I wanted Henbane & Heka to feel raw, authentic, and honour the rich traditions that paved way for modern practice. This isn’t just about health—it’s about embracing the deeper, sometimes darker, aspects of healing, where we reconnect with nature’s cycles and our own healing power.
