Celebrating Farm Safe Week.

Here are five tips to help be safe on the farm.

1. Have a well-equipped first aid kit: Ensure you have a properly stocked one readily available on your farm. It should include essential items such as bandages, sterile dressings, adhesive tape, antiseptic solution, gloves, scissors, and a CPR mask. Regularly check and replenish your supplies to keep the kit up to date.

2. Know emergency contact numbers: Keep a list of emergency contact numbers posted prominently in your farm buildings and vehicles. The list should include local emergency services, poison control centres, nearby hospitals, and other relevant emergency contacts. In case of an accident or medical emergency, having these numbers readily available can save valuable time.

3. Learn CPR and basic first aid: A first aid and CPR course is crucial for anyone working on a farm. Knowing how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), control bleeding, stabilize fractures, and provide initial care for burns or other injuries can significantly improve the outcome in an emergency. Enrol in a first aid training course and ensure your skills are up to date. Check out our courses at www.nfti.edu.au.

4. Identify hazards and mitigate risks: Conduct regular farm safety assessments to identify potential hazards and take steps to reduce them. This may involve ensuring proper storage of chemicals, securing machinery and equipment, implementing safety measures around livestock handling, and addressing structural or environmental risks. Proactively addressing hazards can prevent accidents and reduce the likelihood of injuries.

5. Communicate and share information: Foster a safety culture on your farm by promoting open communication and sharing safety information with all farm workers, family members, and visitors. Discuss safety protocols, emergency procedures, and any new information or lessons learned from incidents. Encourage everyone to report hazards, near-misses, or safety concerns, as proactive communication can help prevent accidents and improve overall farm safety.

Remember, farm safety is a collective responsibility. By following these tips and investing in first aid training, you can help create a safer environment for everyone on your farm. Stay safe and be prepared for any emergency that may arise.

๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒพNational Farm Safety Week is here! ๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒพ

From July 17th to July 23rd, 2023, we join hands with rural communities across Australia to raise awareness about farm safety issues.

In all workplaces, it is vital that we prioritise the safety of our people. This week is a reminder that we can make a difference by taking steps towards farm safety.

Did you know that agriculture is one of the most high-risk industries in Australia? It's a fact we can't ignore. During National Farm Safety Week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to consider safety practices on their farms (and in all workplaces) and within their rural communities.
- Are you up to date with first aid practices?
- Do you know how to respond in an accident or medical emergency?

We're here to help!

At National First Aid Training Institute, we offer comprehensive first-aid training courses. Our experienced instructors will guide you through essential techniques, including CPR, wound management, fracture immobilisation, and more. By empowering individuals with the right skills, we can minimise the impact of accidents and save lives.

Join us in observing National Farm Safety Week by spreading the word about the importance of farm safety. Please share this post with your friends and family to help create awareness and encourage others to invest in their safety. You can also find more information about farm safety at Farmsafe Australia.

We provide courses in all sorts of places, and to all sorts of people.

Recently, our training manager, Brett did a course at a high school on the Sunshine Coast. And the feedback from the school was amazing. The kids even kept their phones off.

Sometimes we get asked, what sets National First Aid Training Institute apart from other first aid training providers?

It's simple - our trainers!

Our trainers are not just experienced first responders (like paramedics, nurses, police officers and firies), they are also actively involved in administering first aid in their day to day lives. From volunteering at Scouts to working in emergency departments, our trainers have hands-on experience that you can trust. When you attend our training courses, you won't just learn the theory behind first aid - you'll also gain practical knowledge from experts who have seen and done it all.

Make sure who choose as a first aid training provider, has delivered first aid to real people.

We are so proud of this wonderful feedback about our Maroochydore Trainer, Simon!

"This course was delivered in the best possible way. The trainer, Simon, was far and away the best first aid trainer I have experienced in 30 plus years of first aid courses. His ability to impart knowledge was excellent, and his teaching style was the perfect balance of calm, thorough, delivery which I found to be easily absorbed.

I do not often take the time to pass on this type of feedback in this detail, but his performance was refreshing during a time when the quality of many health, safety and high-risk compliance courses are becoming increasingly poorly delivered." - Participant, Maroochydore QLD

The NFTI Difference

NFTI has always been a family owned business, where our extended NFTI family and the families of our team come first. Our original owners Geoff and Louise Bryant dedicated their time to providing the best in first aid training on the Sunshine Coast. They have retired and sold their family business to their son AJ, who continues that dedication for high quality training throughout Queensland and Australia.

We pride ourselves in our accurate information, providing our students to not only be first aiders but to show them how to manage a first aid emergency. First aid is a serious subject, however, with a fun element incorporated we get our students laughing and this in turn gets them listening. We have demonstrated in the past our flexibility with corporate clients in adjusting our course content to their specific requirements and as well as flexibility with training dates, times and pricings.

Our dedication to environmentally sound practices and to constantly improving these practices throughout NFTI is a passion of ours. We are proud to be recognised as a star partner with the Ecobiz program.
