This is why I adjust kids - I want to help their brain and body talk so they can grow to their maximum potential. Let’s grow healthier together!

This workshop is going to be great for parents and babies who want to know a bit more about baby brain development, and how brilliant tummy time is. It’s also for those parents who struggle with a colicky baby, a bub who is restless in the car or the Bub who loves to party at 3am when they should be sleeping.

I have travelled alot over the past few months, and admittedly, gym has taken a backseat in my priorities. I decided to get back into it last week, and oh boy are my legs laughing at me. Time for magnesium and a epsom salt bath.

Excuse the selfie.I am a big fan of resistance traning. I firmly believe that it is one of the greatest tools that I can use in my own life to ensure that I am bright, vibrant and healthy well into my old age. Up until recently, research has been predominantly male focused on the benefits

I know that stress management is a boring topic - we all know that we should try and manage stress, etc etc. But it's really important for women who suffer from hormonal imbalances, perimenopause symptoms or estrogen dominance to understand how our bodies handle perceived stress. And it's the word perceived that is the most important one here - stress will always happen in our lives, but it's how we process that emotion before it turns into a chronic chemical overload in our body that can make a world of difference. Chronic stress signals to our bodies that we are not feeling safe, which causes our body to put a halt on ovulation - if you're not safe, it's definitely not time to have a baby! If you don't ovulate, you don't produce progesterone, which over long periods of time can lead to all sorts of hormonal issues. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Hello beautiful ladies! 💖 Lately, many of you have been reaching out with questions about the onset of insomnia, struggling to find that elusive sweet spot of falling asleep and staying asleep. You're not alone in this, and I want to assure you that it's a common concern, especially during perimenopause.

The connection between sleep and our overall well-being is profound. Insomnia can have various triggers, including hormonal shifts, stress, and lifestyle changes. For many women, these factors can become particularly pronounced during times of transition, even if they've never had insomnia before.

I wrote about it on my latest blog post - http://www.drlaurabrooks.com/insomnia-during-perimenopause/
Please reach out if you have any specific questions - I'd love to chat.

Sweet dreams!

Perimenopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life marked by hormonal shifts. However, while it signifies a remarkable transition towards wisdom and self-assuredness, it also brings its share of challenges. One of the most prevalent and frustrating among them is insomnia. In this blog post, we wil...

✨ Embracing Serenity: An Evening Ritual for Insomnia Relief during Perimenopause and Menopause ✨

Hello radiant souls! 💖 Today, I want to share a specially crafted evening ritual that can be a beacon of hope for those navigating insomnia during the transformative phases of perimenopause and menopause. 🌙 This is the time that you want to be a little bit extra ladies - find the silky pyjamas, drink the herbal teas. You deserve it.

As the day winds down, it's crucial to create a cocoon of calm that signals to your body and mind that it's time to unwind. Here are some steps tailored to your unique journey:

Gentle Movement: Begin with a slow and nurturing stretching or restorative yoga session. These practices are a gift to your body, releasing the tension that often accompanies hormonal shifts.

Aromatherapy Magic: Infuse your space with the power of calming scents like lavender, chamomile, or frankincense. Allow these precious oils to envelop you in a cocoon of tranquility, soothing both body and soul.

Digital Detox for Hormone Harmony: Power down your devices at least an hour before bedtime. The disruptive impact of screen time on sleep is particularly pronounced during these hormonal phases. If you can't, choose night shift on your phone, or look into red light blocking glasses - this can be a game changer.

Herbal Allies: Brew a cup of soul-soothing herbal tea like red clover, valerian root, or passionflower. These botanical wonders have been cherished through the ages for their ability to ease insomnia during menopausal transitions.

Mindful Breath for Hormone Harmony: Try techniques such as box breathing, or just concentrating on your breath. Research shows that this can lower cortisol, allowing your body to feel safe and ready to sleep deeply.

Bath Time Bliss: Immerse yourself in a warm bath infused with Epsom salts. This loving ritual relaxes both body and spirit, offering respite from the demands of the day. The magnesium will help your body fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.

Heartfelt Journaling: Take a few moments to spill your thoughts onto the pages of a journal. This act of self-compassion releases the mental clutter that can hinder peaceful slumber.

Gentle Glow: Illuminate your evening space with soft, warm lighting. Let this gentle glow serve as a beacon, inviting you to a world of restful dreams.

Remember, this ritual is a gift to yourself, a promise that you will nurture your body and soul through this transformative journey. Consistency is your ally. By honoring these practices, you create a sanctuary of sleep, a sacred space where restoration unfolds.

If you'd like personalized support on crafting an evening ritual tailored to your unique needs during perimenopause and menopause, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Together, we'll journey towards nights of deep, rejuvenating rest. Sweet dreams, dear friends! 🌜💤
