Your cycle has different phases, and each one has slightly different needs.

The luteal phase begins after ovulation and is a time when the body naturally shifts toward warmth, nourishment and stability.

Including balanced meals with complex carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats can help support energy levels and hormonal balance during this phase.

In Chinese medicine, this part of the cycle is often supported with warming, nourishing foods such as soups, broths and cooked meals.

Small daily choices can support the body’s natural rhythm over time.

Save this as a gentle reminder for your luteal phase.

Autumn in Traditional Chinese Medicine is associated with the Lung and Large Intestine systems.

As the weather becomes cooler and drier, we often see:
• Dry skin
• Dry cough
• Allergies
• Constipation
• Grief or low mood
• Increased susceptibility to colds

In TCM, the Lungs are described as governing Qi and respiration, and playing an important role in immunity and fluid regulation.

During autumn, we focus on:
•Supporting Lung function
•Protecting against dryness
•Strengthening the body’s defensive Qi
•Encouraging gentle emotional processing

This is a time for slowing down, nourishing the body, and adjusting routines to support seasonal change.

If you notice changes in your breathing, skin, digestion or immunity at this time of year, it may be helpful to seek individualised advice.

Cycles can take several months to regulate after stopping the pill. If menstruation hasn’t returned after several months, or symptoms feel concerning, appropriate medical assessment is important.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine may be used alongside medical care to support cycle regulation and overall wellbeing during this transition.

Musculoskeletal discomfort can show up in many ways: from desk-related neck tension to lower back strain or sports recovery needs.

Our appointments are personalised and designed to support mobility, circulation and nervous system regulation.

Acupuncture and related techniques may assist with symptom management and can be used alongside other healthcare approaches when appropriate.

If pain is persistent, severe, or associated with injury, we recommend medical assessment.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to know whether this type of appointment may be suitable for you.

When we talk about fertility nutrition, we’re not talking about perfection or restriction. We’re talking about nourishment.

In both modern research and Chinese medicine, fertility is closely linked to how well the body is nourished, rested, and regulated.

Food becomes one of the most practical ways to support that foundation.

22/02/2026

Chinese medicine sees the body as an intelligent, interconnected system rather than a collection of separate parts.

At its core, health is about balance, flow, and harmony.

Instead of asking only “What disease is this?”, Chinese medicine asks:

How is energy moving?

Is anything stuck, depleted, overheated, or undernourished?

How are the body, mind, and emotions influencing one another?

Whether you’re feeling well and wanting to stay that way, or you’re working through ongoing health challenges, acupuncture can be tailored to meet you where you are and support your body’s natural regulatory processes.

Your cycle is a reflection of how your body is functioning as a whole.

The menstrual cycle is a coordinated conversation between the brain, ovaries, thyroid, metabolism and nervous system. When one area is under strain, the cycle often shifts first. Changes in timing, flow, pain, ovulation, mood or premenstrual symptoms are rarely random.
They are signals.
A healthy cycle is typically:
• Around 26–32 days
• With clear ovulation
• A 3–7 day bleed
• Manageable discomfort
• Minimal premenstrual disruption

That doesn’t mean every cycle must be perfect. Life stages such as coming off hormonal contraception, postpartum recovery, stress, or perimenopause can all influence what you’re seeing.

But persistent pain, very heavy or very light bleeding, irregular cycles, or significant PMS deserve support. Conditions such as Endometriosis or Polycystic O***y Syndrome can also present through cycle changes and should always be properly assessed.

Tracking your cycle over several months can provide clarity. Patterns often tell us more than a single month ever could.

When we begin to observe rather than ignore, we give ourselves the opportunity to respond - with nourishment, rest, investigation, or appropriate care.

Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse

The Horse brings independence, charisma and forward drive. Fire amplifies it with visibility, courage, and intensity.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine lens, Fire connects to the Heart system: circulation, joy, emotional expression, and the nervous system.

When Fire is balanced → warmth, clarity, connection.
When excessive → restlessness, poor sleep, irritability, burnout.

Here on the Sunny Coast, we’re still in late Summer (Earth season). That grounding Earth energy is your anchor.

Support your Fire by:
Protecting sleep
Eating regularly to stabilise blood sugar
Hydrating well in the heat
Choosing steadiness over impulsive action

Happy Chinese New Year from Bloom 🌸
