October is Mental Health Month in Australia, and on 10 October we recognise World Mental Health Day 💚

The two-day course delved into the intricacies of dementia, encompassing an understanding of the behaviors exhibited by individuals affected by it. 📝

Participants were afforded the unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights through exercises, including the use of virtual reality headsets. 🕶️

This enabled them to simulate the lived experience of individuals with dementia, both with and without medication, and at various times of the day. 🌥️

Meet Arcare Maroochydore resident, Freda Viola Joan. Freda knits trauma teddies, beanies for preemie babies and mittens which are all donated to Wishlist. 🥢✨

Wishlist is the Sunshine Coast Health Foundation which provides fundraising support to the needs of local health services, including all areas of Nambour, Caloundra, Maleny, and Gympie hospitals and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. 🏥
