The goal of Shell Yoga is to create space for you to appreciate your body, become aware of your mind and the noise it creates, to make peace with who you are. Shell Yoga is not only about becoming flexible or being able to hold a pose. You are invited to come to your yoga mat or chair to feel not to accomplish. Let me ask you a couple of questions:
Can you pull your pants or stockings on without groaning or falling? Can you get in and/or out of a car, chair or bath without grunting or groaning? Can you confidently reach for something without groaning or falling? I am passionate about helping you be the best you can be. Come train with Shell Yoga & Mindfulness to find your STRENGTH & PEACE while discovering that you can only ever be right HERE and the time can only ever be right NOW. If any other time suits you for a class (other than those listed) please let me know and if there a few interested I am happy to oblige. If you have 5 or more persons interested and have an appropriate space - let’s talk. Do you work in a corporate environment and would like to start off / finish off the day with yoga & mindfulness and you have an appropriate space we could use or are close to a park – let’s talk. Maybe a 45 min lunch time class of stretch and mindfulness is more what you are looking for to help with the stress of the day. Do you own/manage a stressful work environment – a stretch and mindfulness class would be amazing gift and show of appreciation to your staff. Are you on holidays on the beautiful Sunny Coast and looking for a private class? I know when I am away from home I am always looking for a reasonably priced class close to where I am. I am happy to travel to you and am flexible with times.

Chair Yoga & Mindfulness is a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and stillness. You will move every part of your body slowly, with purpose, and with breath – from the top of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes – all from the comfort and security of a chair. The session ends with guided relaxation. Shell’s clients often say they hadn’t realised how tight some parts of their body were before experiencing total body relaxation.

Chair Yoga is for anyone who finds it difficult to get up and down from the floor for any reason. Perhaps you think you’re too old, too big, too inflexible, recovering from an injury, have different physical or mental abilities, or struggle to breathe – this class is for you.

During the sessions, you are in charge of your body. We aim to find that “Goldilocks” spot – not too little (you may be holding back) and not too much (you should not feel new pain). Shell encourages you not to compare yourself to others – just do the best you can on the day, which may vary from session to session.

From birth, your tongue is actually connected to your toes through an intricate network of connective tissue known as fascia.

If your tongue is not resting correctly in your mouth due to mouth breathing, things can get out of alignment in your mouth and the rest of your body.
Tongue posture can lead to a foot imbalance and vice versa because the tongue guides all myofascial continuity structures that run from the inner arch of the foot up through the middle of the body to the tongue and jaw muscles.

When the tongue sits on top of the palate, it seals the oral cavity and holds the throat open like a tent. These muscles support the neck, keep your posture straight, help you breathe, and maintain your posture upright.
Your tongue also acts as a rudder and support system through a fascial line, and when the tongue is down, we breathe through our mouth, and the head falls forward due to lack of support, which leads to poor posture and increased energy expenditure.
