As we celebrate women’s health week this week, we wanted to discuss Endometriosis.

Endometriosis is estimated to affect one in nine women. Some women may even be unaware that they have it.
What’s more research suggests that 50% of those living with Endometriosis are challenged by fertility, and 30% of women undergoing fertility treatment have been previously diagnosed with Endometriosis.

Today we have been celebrating World Embryology day with delicious themed cupcakes!

We celebrated with the very talented Peter, our longest-standing employee! Peter has worked here alongside Dr Paul Stokes, our founder, since 1995. Pete, former Scientific Director, is now working here as a consulting Embryologist.
Liz, (far right) is our recently appointed and amazing Scientific Director. Also introducing the lovely Ashley, our newest addition to the scientific team.

We are very grateful for this wonderful team of talented humans and they literally make our world go round! 👶🏼

World Embryologist Day 2023

July 25th is World IVF Day, also known as World Embryologist Day. We celebrate the incredible work of our amazing team of Embryologists Liz, Peter and Cheryl and the wider community of embryologists who have made it possible for us to do what we do today! They not only help create beautiful babies, but they also create some awesome 'themed' tasty baking treats!
This day was chosen as World IVF Day because it is the birthday of Louise Brown, the first baby ever born through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Louise was born in Oldham, United Kingdom, on this day in 1978. Since then, over 8 million babies have been born through IVF. Thank you team we honor you today and every day!

Did you know ~1 in 6 couples in Australia face fertility issues.

June is world infertility awareness month aimed at shining light on the various difficulties people face trying to conceive.

Infertility can be a long and challenging journey, filled with heartache and frustration. It is important that people know they are not alone, and that help is out there.

If you are, or know someone who is struggling to conceive, help raise awareness this month by reaching out, offering support or sharing your own story. Let's break the silence surrounding infertility and support those in need.

Welcome Cheryl!!

Cheryl recently joined our team bringing over 25 years of experience as an embryologist. She has worked at, and managed several major laboratories across Australia and the UK. She has extensive training in all aspects of embryology including embryo biopsy for pre-implantation genetic testing.

We are so fortunate to have someone like Cheryl to join our already amazing embryology team!

In case you missed it! Last week Dr Ben Stokes spoke to Channel 7 News about the use of robotics in Gynaecological surgery.

Robotics is a form of minimally invasive ("keyhole") surgery that can be used for hysterectomies, endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts.
