Wow. Such a surprise this morning - my beautiful receptionist Bec knew how much I love her jumper (I keep complimenting her on it) so she unknowingly went and found me one in an op shop (as they don’t sell them anymore). Such a thoughtful gift. Happy to twin with this one any day! Love our team.

Calling all parents whose teens are struggling with anxiety or stress 🌿

We’re getting ready to run another Hot Chocolate Circle – Coping with Stress group for girls aged 12–14, starting in Term 3 at Full Life Psychology.

This is an 8-week group therapy program where girls can come together in a safe, supportive space to better understand stress — instead of fearing it — and learn practical, evidence-based strategies to manage it. The group is led by our provisional psychologists, and it’s a place where girls can talk openly, support one another, and realise they’re not alone.

Each week, we’ll explore topics like:

🌿What stress actually is (and why our bodies respond the way they do).
🌿Simple, effective coping strategies.
🌿How sleep, movement, and what we eat can help us feel better.
🌿Time management and problem-solving skills.
🌿How to challenge unhelpful thoughts.
🌿Creating a personal stress action plan.

It’s also a great opportunity to build friendships and feel connected to others going through similar things.

If this sounds like something your daughter would benefit from, we’d love to hear from you.

Calling all girls aged 12-14 who would like to learn how to better manage stress (while drinking hot chocolate!).

Adolescence can be a challenging time, and as a result, many young girls are experiencing high levels of stress. Our aim is to create a safe and supportive space where girls can share their experiences and learn evidence-based strategies to cope with stress. The program starts in just two weeks!

Our program is also neurodivergent-friendly!

We would love to hear from you. To find out more, email admin@fulllifepsychology.com.au or call (07) 5354 6112.

Did you know that colours can significantly impact our mood and behaviour? 🎨

It's not just about aesthetics; colours can shape how we feel every day. For example, blue is known for its calming effects and is often favoured to create serene environments. Conversely, red can energise us and is a popular choice to stimulate interaction and appetite.

Yellow typically evokes feelings of happiness and creativity but can be overwhelming in large doses. Meanwhile, green, the colour of nature, is synonymous with relaxation and stress reduction.

Understanding the psychology behind colour can enlighten us about why certain environments make us feel a certain way.

The next time you find yourself in a particularly peaceful space, take a moment to observe the colours around you.
