Flood recovery is not the same for everyone. For some Bundaberg residents, disrupted housing, transport challenges or competing priorities can make it harder to access healthcare.
For two weeks, a Bundaberg Mobile Health Service is helping by bringing a GP and nurse directly into community locations to support people experiencing homelessness — providing health checks, wound care, medication support and referrals to ongoing services.
By removing practical barriers and supporting earlier access to care, the clinical outreach team is helping residents stay well as recovery continues.
Community organisations supporting flood-affected residents can request an outreach visit by emailing disasters@c2coast.org.au

This mobile health response is led by Country to Coast Queensland and made possible through funding by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing through the PHN program. It is being delivered in partnership with Queensland Housing and Public Works (including the HOME outreach team), Wide Bay Hospital & Health Service, Wide Bay Zero, 1300MEDICS, Bundaberg Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (ForHealth), and other local community organisations supporting people experiencing homelessness.
The Bundaberg Mobile Health Service will be in operation until Friday 27 March 2026 (inclusive).
