The emotion wasn’t tears…

I was in the pit of grief with them.

I held space with silence, pausing, pacing the conversation guided by the family, using their language, listening with intent reflecting and paraphrasing.

This is how I show care, gently guiding allowing space for grief to be present as the family learned to navigate a new normal while making life changing decisions.

Last night Jaqi .celebrant and I carpooled and attended a presentation at one of Sydney’s newer ceremeteries, MacArthur Memorial Park, at Varroville (near St Andrew’s).

We were introduced to the delicious food, catered by solace catering while we explored the gorgeous setting.

The rolling hills, established trees, waterways and walkways help nurture the local bird and other wildlife in a serene, peaceful place while creating space for reflection, remembrance and healing.

While it’s a catholic cemetery, all faiths are welcomed. The Chapel with its views overlooking the rolling hills can accommodate 500 people.

It is a beautiful place to rest peacefully ❤️
