I help people who may have had a long-term or chronic injury, brought on by overtraining in their fitness journey or the possibility of poor ergonomics in a work situation. I tend to use sports massage techniques combined with MFR (myofascial release) and deep tissue to help overcome those tight muscles which may cause dysfunction. I have been running my massage business for 10 years (minus a couple for the pandemic we had) working out of local gyms – and I am also a PT, but my passion is to help those who need it most. Offering a solution, a treatment plan to get them back on track. What I have seen over the years are a few key problems:
1. Not putting ourselves first – we need to listen to our bodies, sometimes they are trying to tell us (in a polite way) that there may be an issue. The pain may be unbearable, but we get on with it. Time and time again we are pushing our bodies to the max.
2. Over-training is a big one – not allowing our bodies to recover properly or ignoring a little niggle that will not go away. All these may lead to a short or long-term injury which may be preventable if you schedule a Remedial or Sports massage for yourself. I believe that everyone deserves to be pain-free, and encouraged in health and well-being, we need to get on with everyday activities without feeling guilty or letting anyone down. By creating a treatment plan specifically designed for you, at Maryborough Remedial & Sports massage we can educate you with different techniques and get you back on track!
