Our EO, Jacqui, recently visited the Southern Cross University Herbarium in Lismore โ an incredible collection dedicated to medicinal plants and their role in both traditional and contemporary medicine.
An important part of the Herbariumโs work is herbal authentication, supporting research with pharmacognostic techniques such as botanical identification and microscopy. It also plays a vital role in housing voucher specimens โ authentic plant material used in research โ which are held in perpetuity and referenced globally by scientists.
๐ A big thank you to the team at SCU for welcoming NHAA. Itโs inspiring to see the incredible work being done to preserve and authenticate medicinal plants, ensuring their knowledge and value continue to support evidence-based natural medicine.
