Exciting news! Our Director, Rodney Hood, is embarking on a challenge ride from Newcastle to Bathurst this weekend, covering nearly 400km in just 3 days! 🌟
But this ride is about more than just a personal challenge. Rodney and his cohort are fundraising for the Merewether Carlton Rugby Club Greens Welfare & Wellbeing Program, which provides vital support for players, coaches, and managers. Established in 2023, this program offers access to psychological services and aims to address concussion and injury rehabilitation in the future. 🏉
The club's Welfare and Wellbeing Working Group has partnered with NewPsych to create the "Greens Assistance Program," offering confidential mental health counselling and support to the Greens community. Typically, these services can cost over $600, but thanks to this new initiative, individuals will have free access to three consultations, removing barriers to support. This is a ground breaking step for community rugby and sports in regional areas! 🌟
