Do you have a little one who is a bit scared of needles like me?

If they are 2, 3 or 4 years old, not like me, they can get a free nasal spray flu vaccine.

It is really simple. The doctor or nurse will spray the vaccine into your child's nose. One spray into each nostril. That's it, how good is that!

It is gentle, painless and best of all needle-free. It is absorbed really quickly so if your child sneezes right after, it still works.

Give us a call to book your little one in for their flu vaccine and while you are at it book the rest of the family too.

Flu vaccine stock has arrived at the Hub, everyone — so here’s your gentle (and slightly annoying) seasonal reminder to book in for your flu shot.
It’s free for kids under 5, and also free for those over 65 and the ATSI community. If you have to pay its only $19.00. Don’t wait until half your household has gone down sick — by then, it’s a bit late.
Spread the word to your friends and family — all the people you care about.
Winter is coming, and flu season is expected to hit hard. Unlike a good mystery, this one has the same predictable ending every year — so best to get ahead of it.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:
Measles exposure at John Hunter Hospital

An unvaccinated child with measles was in the John Hunter ED for two significant periods on 1 April 6.30pm - 1.00am 2 April and 6 April 1.30-3.00pm.

Attempts are being made to contact all exposed individuals.

If anyone was infected, then measles symptoms will develop from today or over the next two weeks.

Additional measles cases are likely in the coming weeks.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr Naomi Clements to Newcastle Medical Hub.

Naomi's books are open to new patients.

Naomi joins our practice as a GP Registrar, having recently relocated from Katherine in the NT.

Naomi embraces the concept of conducting healthcare "with" her patients, rather then doing it "to" them or "for" them. Naomi prides herself on excellent communication and high-quality patient-centred care.

Outside of work, you will find Naomi baking up a storm, riding her motorbike or cuddling her Cavoodle.

Welcome Naomi, you've found a home at the Hub.
