Keep Calm we are open!

On Sunday 31st of January at 6pm the Perth Metroploitan area, the Peel and South West regions entered a 5-day lockdown.

We at Clinicare Compounding Pharmacy will remain open and have taken protective measures as we are located in one of the Covid-19 hot spots, all our staff members have been tested and no staff members were in contact or the vicinity of the infected person.

The health advice from the West Australians government is STAY AT HOME unless you are an essential worker, shopping for essential like groceries and medicines, access to medical or health care, providing care and support to a relative or person with medical needs, compassionate requirements and exercise these measures will be in place until the 5th of February 2021 at 6pm.

To help stop the spread of Covid-19 we require masks be worn at all times when in our pharmacy and hand sanitiser will be available when entering, children under 12 years of age are exempt from wearing a face mask.

We understand that this is a confusing time for many but we at Clinicare are here to help and will remain open to help with your health care needs.

With the cold season imminent it is important to stay informed and updated on the recommended vaccines to help protect you and your loved ones. Here we have some information below about 3 common vaccines:

1. Flu- Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is caused by a highly contagious virus that is spread by contact with fluids from coughs and sneezes. Every year, influenza causes widespread illness in the community. Annual vaccination before the onset of each influenza season is recommended

2. Pneumonia- One of the most common types of bacterial pneumonia is caused by infection with Streptococcus pneumonia. There are vaccines against this strain that to boost against the infection Pneumovax 23. This is commonly five yearly vaccine.

3. Whooping cough- (pertussis) is a serious, contagious, respiratory infection caused by the bacterium Bordetella pertussis. The disease begins like a cold and then the characteristic cough develops, this cough may last up to three months. Adults should be vaccinated with the whooping cough vaccine if they have not had a dose in the last 10 years.
