Well first of all well done mum! You and your body have just done something amazing! You’ve grown a human being and given birth to it. Incredible!

Your delivery may have been easy or complicated. You may have laboured for days or just a few hours. You may have had a caesarean or vaginal birth - your body has been through a experience just the same. This will vary person to person and can take months to fully recover and feel yourself again. While a lot of us know we tend to focus 100% on our beautiful baby just remember you are just as important.

It’s an important time to rest, eat nutritious food, talk about your birth and how your feeling after your experience. It’s a time to bond with your baby, take things slow, ask for help, be patient and kind to yourself. You have just done something incredible!

Not all fats are created equal! Are you getting enough? When it comes to healthy fats, research shows that most people aren't getting the needed amounts of essential fatty acids such as Omega-3. They are important for heart health, helping to increase "good" cholesterol and are a crucial part of healthy cellular function including cells of the skin.😊

Our bodies can't make them from scratch so we need to get them from foods - avocado, fish, olive oil, flaxseed oil, nuts and seeds, especially flaxseeds, chia seeds and walnuts. 🥑🐟

I love sprinkling my salads with nuts and seeds and include them in slices, protein balls and smoothies.

Mum always said to eat your veggies, but did you know that it's not just important to eat your veggies, but to make sure that you're eating a rainbow of veggies. What does this mean? Choosing a greater variety veggies from the four different colours (reds, greens, yellows and blues) makes sure your body is getting all of the important vitamins, antioxidants, phytonutrients and fibre your body needs to to have a more balanced, healthier diet, a strong immune system and to help prevent disease!
