This weekend I ran a boxing, breath and ice session not as a fitness class but as emotional training.
The intention wasn’t performance, it was learning how to feel, name, regulate and release emotion in real time.
What I noticed was this, most people don’t struggle with the intensity or the ice. They struggle with staying present with discomfort without trying to escape it.
Holding their breath, tensing, wanting it to be over and then when they slowed down, named what they were feeling and regulated their breath, everything changed.
Not because the discomfort disappeared, but because their capacity increased.
This is emotional resilience, not avoiding hard things, learning how to handle yourself inside them.
The feedback reminded me why this work matters so much, when people learn these skills in their body, not just their head, they realise they’re far more capable than they thought.
This is the work I teach with my 1:1 private clients and in my workshops.
