It’s no secret that recent advancement in modern science is linking the psychosomatic experience to our nervous system health and that understanding this complex system and using it to our advantage can create holistic effects to the mind and body experience.

I reference modern science here because the yogis, Vedic texts and traditional Chinese medicine, still known as the original science of the mind has been not only writing in texts about this for thousands of years but actually prescribing certain kinds exercises and teachings to help the average person to live a more harmonious life.

Modern science is now recognising these practices as beneficial to the system and more and more mind science institutions are including these ancient practices in their clinical teaching curriculum.

A WIN in my eyes for humanity.

I consider myself a teacher and practitioner who harnesses both Eastern and western sciences to work towards more integrated outcomes for my clients leaving them with a sense of self agency.

Releasing these horizontal fascial planes in conjunction with Craniosacral Therapy is a powerful way to bring back structural integrity back to a system that needs to function dynamically.

This is what I would call a CST (craniosacral therapy) and MFR (myofascial release) ALIGNMENT.

Usually during a session I will have a mix of “treating the source” of the pain and also treating the “symptom”

Pelvic imbalances are something that most people are aware of.. which indicates a dysfunction in the pelvic diaphragm or pelvic floor, but did you know that the pelvic floor works synonymously with the respiratory diaphragm as well? Massaging the digestive system as you in hale and exhale?

Ever been stressed and shallow breathed for a few weeks then had stomach problems and lower back pain?

No area in the body works as a singular system, they all work in synchronicity with each other, it makes sense to treat the system not just the symptom.

This is a concept I’ve been wanting to introduce for some time!!

An exchange where I get to practice techniques on bodies for my own educational and research purposes rather than client specific goals.

While still taking on u full client history and consultation I won’t be addressing the clients needs as such. Will they still benefit, yes absolutely.

The exchange is a small payment plus review after the session on how they felt before, during and after.

Sometimes I will be taking on clients with specific ailments and others I will red more neutral bodies or bodies with less chronic conditions.

Nervous system regulation is becoming one of the highest booked sessions in my clinic.

People are truly feeling the value that understanding and treating their nervous system is bringing to their life as a whole.

Like the musculoskeletal, lymphatic and circulatory systems, the nervous system is a system of its own that needs its own specialised care.

I don’t just mean a “ relaxing massage “ or an hour of “rest” because your stressed, I mean working with your nervous system strategically to optimise your mind/ body potential and to build resilience for life!!

Here’s a few tips for next time you get injured or strain your body.

My biggest tip I can give is active recovery. This is so important to keep the body moving, no matter the severity of the injury.

Your movement doesn’t have to be much. But “resting” alone will not fix your injury, especially if it’s repetitive strain.

If anything, resting allows your unconscious strain patterns to pull tighter and get more dehydrated due to lack of dynamic movement.

Stretching Is great…

BUT dynamic movement that engages the entire system is better.

Tight fascia and overactive/under active muscles need to be addressed.

Strain patterns in the system need to be addressed and REMODELED!

This is the time to see your fascial release practitioner.

I saw this meme from and had to share.
The entire thread is amazing but I loved this particular as it refers to using functional fascia as a smarter source of energy over using brut strength muscle power alone.

I also like this analogy for therapists utilising Myofascial release over general muscle only massage techniques that treat only locally and not the global bioelectrical glue that fascia is 🕸

How have I been treating chronic pain in my clients using mostly my hands for 15 years with no Repetitive strain injuries?

Because I work smarter not harder and at the end of the day.. what really matters, is the results. WE GET LASTING RESULTS 🙌🏻🕸🫶🏻
