Gentle Death Education and Planning

Gentle Death Education and Planning End of Life consultant & educator, researcher; EOL services, advocacy & support for people & pets. Comprehensive & inclusive training, EFT psychotherapy.

Death literacy, secular/atheist, LBGTIQA+ ally, diversity-inclusive, kink-friendly safe space. Gentle Death and Events Planning is a culmination of decades spent working to relieve grief and trauma. I founded GDEP to help everyday people and professionals in the end of life space increase their capacity to support the dying. I do this through direct support as an end of life consultant, providing direct mentoring virtually and face-to-face, as a speaker, academic, teacher and publishing research. My latest undertaking is an online program that brings together practical support with evidence-based knowledge to help empower people when acting in a support role to someone facing end of life. Inclusive of diversity, culturally impartial, and free from religion, my end of life training is suitable for practising professionals and the layperson alike.

Ok, so speaking as a VERY experienced grief and trauma recovery psychotherapist, please don't feel ashamed at any relief you feel with the death of C Kirk.

He spewed misogyny, pro-rape, anti-choice poisoning lies everywhere- and he revelled in doing so. There is one less prominent anti-woman voice in the world today, and your feelings are valid.

Be gentle with yourself. A monster is dead, it's normal not to feel sorrow. Don't pretend. Don't perform. You are important just as you are. 🫂

P.S.: Chuck also thought empathy was a woke, invented term, do don't waste any in his general direction!

Want the best podcast to help your weekend listening shine? I've got you sorted!

You may already listen to the "Don't Be Caught Dead" podcast hosted by the award-winning and multi-talented Catherine Ashton (you have EXCELLENT taste!), but if you haven't started yet try this episode with me. Catherine is a wonderful host, asks insightful questions, and guides us gently through tender topics with humour and verve.

We talk found family, compassion at end of life, and - as always - why good advance planning eases grief for everyone. I had a great time, I hope you enjoy it too.
