Death literacy, secular/atheist, LBGTIQA+ ally, diversity-inclusive, kink-friendly safe space. Gentle Death and Events Planning is a culmination of decades spent working to relieve grief and trauma. I founded GDEP to help everyday people and professionals in the end of life space increase their capacity to support the dying. I do this through direct support as an end of life consultant, providing direct mentoring virtually and face-to-face, as a speaker, academic, teacher and publishing research. My latest undertaking is an online program that brings together practical support with evidence-based knowledge to help empower people when acting in a support role to someone facing end of life. Inclusive of diversity, culturally impartial, and free from religion, my end of life training is suitable for practising professionals and the layperson alike.

I've got a one-woman show about the year that followed my mother's death, where I unpack my own grief process based on the weekly video diaries I uploaded to social media. Funny, honest, insightful and wry, this show explores how even therapists don't always do grief 'right'.

I spent last week in an intensive 5 day workshop learning how to weave a willow coffin with master UK weaver Sophia Campbell-Shaw.

Deeply satisfying to be weaving again, but the supplier wasn't terribly prepared, so we also learned advanced techniques to compensate.
