I love to see people happy and being able to help them is such a privilege. Rocky has been with me for 7 years now. Originally, we got him for our youngest child as the big horses were just too big. On and off over the years I have had all shapes and size horses and in January 2021 I had a major riding accident. This left me in a neck brace for 3 months, four fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a fractured sacrum, concussion, and I degloved my arm. Having a lot of time on my hands recovering, I saw a post on Facebook about equine therapy. I started following similar posts in the U.S. and researching as much as I could for WA. It was then that I thought this is not going to be my last dash with horses, whilst I could not ride, I could do therapy work with Rocky and help people of all ages like he had helped me. Then Patches or Patchy as I like to call him, came to me as a rescue. He was in a group of 4 that were in desperate need of a home and a lot of loving. Whilst I could not take them all, the others thankfully found loving and homes and Patchy came to live with us in June 2021. He has had to overcome so much, with rotated pedal bones in the front hooves, laminitis, and extremely high insulin levels. Patches comes out of his shell more and more every day. He is slowly understanding that he is safe and loved beyond measure. Once he has really settled then he too will start coming out with Rocky and I. So that's how this crazy little thought one day, became a reality the next, and I absolutely love it!
