Our Year 3/4 students in Room 18 took on the classic Egg Drop STEM Challenge, working in teams to design and build protective structures that could keep a raw egg safe during a high drop. Using creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, students tested different materials and design ideas.
Out of four drops, two designs were successful, keeping their eggs completely intact! The other teams showed fantastic resilience and used their results to reflect on how they might redesign or improve their creations next time.

Room 17 has begun the second phase of science for our term 4 IEP goals. We are learning about chemical change and the difference between reversible and irreversible changes. We have completed some exciting experiments. We looked at how heat from our hands can create a physical change in coconut oil and how this can be reversed back. We also looked at how chocolate can change once exposed to heat. Our weekly cooking lessons have complemented our science, as we can see through cooking that some chemical changes are irreversible 🧪⚛🧫

On Fridays this term, Room 19 have been participating in community access to Shipwreck Park in Hilbert. We prepared by reading a social story and completing sorting activities about things we can do at the park. Ms Heasman drives us in the school bus to Shipwreck Park, where we are learning essential skills such as staying with the group, staying within the boundaries of the park and how to balance, climb, swing and play all while having a great time 🛳🚐

MaCS has been buzzing with laughter and fun this term, especially in Lunchclub! Students have also shown wonderful social and emotional growth through both the Social Club and Satellite programs.
Our dedicated Student Leaders have been hard at work with their weekly paper recycling, and today we wrapped up our final Foodbank collection for 2025 — a big thank you to everyone who contributed!
We’re also excited to announce that we’ve received 15 nominations for our 2026 Student Leaders. Voting will take place in Week 4, Thursday, and we can’t wait to see who our new leaders will be! 😁
