πŸ“šβœ¨ Blending Technology with Learning βœ¨πŸ’»
This week in class, our students have been exploring how digital tools can support their learning in literacy and numeracy. Using Seesaw, they are learning to take greater ownership of their learning in a fun and meaningful way.

Here’s what they’ve been practicing:
Scanning a QR code to access their assigned activity
Selecting their name from the class list
Completing a literacy or numeracy task
Saving their work so the teacher can check and respond

Through these steps, students are not only working on their reading, writing, and math skills but also learning how to use technology independently and responsibly. It’s wonderful to see their confidence growing as they navigate digital tools to support their learning journey. πŸ“±πŸ”’

Our Room 15 students are showing strong progress in developing their social skills through shared play and group activities. They are learning how to communicate more effectively with one another, taking turns, and listening to each other. During games, students are increasingly showing awareness of fairness and cooperation, supporting each other and celebrating their wins. This is helping them to build confidence.
Playing games together has created a positive environment where students can practise problem-solving, resilience, and empathy. They are more willing to engage with others outside of their usual friendship groups, which has encouraged new connections within the school and strengthened relationships. These experiences are contributing to their personal and social growth, both in and out of the classroom. We are so proud of our students and seeing the joy on their faces!! πŸ˜πŸ‘‚πŸ“£

As part of our PALs grant, we were lucky to have Kalyakoorl (forever) take us on a journey with Noongar language. With books and puppets, he brought stories to life and to celebrate Indigenous literacy in a fun and meaningful way πŸ“–πŸ¦˜πŸ¦ŽπŸ’›

Our ES5 learners have been diving into digital technologies in such a fun and hands-on way! This week, they explored Bee-Bots 🐝 β€” little robots that help them practice coding, problem solving, and teamwork.

Through playful challenges, the children learned how to give step-by-step instructions and use directional language like forward, backward, left, and right. πŸš¦βž‘οΈβ¬…οΈ

It’s amazing to see their excitement as they work together, test their ideas, and celebrate when their Bee-Bots reach the target! πŸ’‘πŸŒŸ

ES6 recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Hyde Park and the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Our small (but very energetic) group began the day at Hyde Park, where we shared a quick bite to eat and took a scenic walk around the beautiful lake. From there, it was just a short trip to the museum, though it felt like a giant leap into a whole new world of knowledge and wonder. Once inside, students were encouraged to begin their journey in Origins β€œthe beginning of our universe.” From this starting point, we travelled down through the museum’s levels, exploring the fascinating stages of Earth’s creation. Our journey concluded in the present day, where the WA Treasures exhibition captured the students’ particular interest and curiosity. πŸ“šπŸ§³πŸŒ
