PMCV would like to welcome the 2026 cohort of JMO Victoria Health Service Representatives (HSRs) from across the state - there are 60 prevocational doctors taking on the role this year!

HSRs bridge the gap between health services, JMO Victoria, and PMCV by being a key contact of and a strong voice for their peers. Their role helps provide insights about what is happening on the ground.

If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to pass on to PMCV and JMO Victoria, your best point of contact is your local HSR.

The second type of Entrustable Professional Activity is EPA 2: Recognition and care of the acutely unwell patient.

This EPA allows for the assessment of how a prevocational doctor approaches and manages changes that indicate a worsening of a patient’s health. These actions include immediate care, appropriate escalation and the communication of critical information to a senior colleague.

Whilst it is ideal that it is observed directly by an assessor, it can also be discussed after the fact with input from those present.

To learn more about how EPA 2 can be completed in practice, head to the PMCV website: https://buff.ly/NsILYWm

The Australian Medical Council’s (AMC) national standards for prevocational training programs and terms underpin the training and education of prevocational doctors across the country, and how PMCV as a prevocational training accreditation authority ensures that all Victorian programs are of a high quality, safe and effective.

Throughout the next few months, we will be outlining the importance of these standards by covering what some of the key themes are in each one, in addition to examples of some common conditions of Accreditation that may arise from each one.

We will first be highlighting Standard 1 - Organisational purpose and the context in which the training program is delivered.
