There are a number of health services who have Accreditation Mid-Cycle Reviews and Survey Visits in 2026.

If you are a prevocational doctor at one of these health services, it is important to provide feedback on any rotations you have completed and get involved in JMO focus groups to assist PMCV in its Accreditation process. This will ensure that all training and education programs are safe, supervised and supported.

Earlier this month some members of the PMCV team attended the 2025 Australian and New Zealand Prevocational Medical Education Forum in Sydney.

Throughout the event, we presented our initiatives and projects such as EPA implementation preparation, Accreditation Survey Programs and Supervisor Training for Community Settings. We also had various poster presentations and held a workshop about the importance of Communities of Practice facilitated by PMCV Medical Director, Dr Sarah Rickman and Learning and Development Specialist, Dr Shemona Rozario.

Thank you to HETI - Health Education and Training Institute for holding such a fantastic event! It was an amazing opportunity to learn from and connect with the national prevocational medical training committee.

PMCV would like to commend the recipients of both the Victorian Clinical Educator of the Year Award, Dr Hussein Rabia and Victorian Prevocational Doctor of the Year Award, Dr Karanjeet Chauhan.

Hussein is an Emergency Physician at Echuca Regional Health and has been providing clinical teaching since 2019. He has been described as an inclusive and welcoming educator whose calm, hands-on, and clinically relevant teaching fosters curiosity, confidence, and continuous growth among prevocational doctors.

Karanjeet is now a BPT2 at Royal Melbourne Hospital but during his prevocational years, he went above and beyond to contribute to education and training at his health service. He has created impactful teaching initiatives that combine practical, active learning with structured clinical guidance, empowering his fellow prevocational doctors to build confidence and navigate clinical challenges.

We wish both Karanjeet and Hussein all the best for the National Awards which will be announced tonight at the Prevocational Medical Education Forum 2025
